Could we get a Great Sword Job/Class? (Dark Knight, possibly?)

I played Final Fantasy XI for about three years and always wanted to do Dark Knight but was discouraged by many and more players who informed me that it was gimped at later levels. So I settled for Paladin, even though it's a sword/shield Job. It's dopey, I know, but I prefer my fake person to use a sword instead of and ax or spear and I don't have much love for tanking. I know I'm not alone in this notion, and I feel like fixing whatever was wrong with Dark Knight from XI, coupled with the addition of over sized blades so commonly attributed to the Final Fantasy series overall would be one more stack of incentive to keep playing! You could give the Buster Sword an appearance, yes? Tell me that wouldn't rake people in. I know Red Mage is a huge demand you guys are trying to accommodate, but still. I want mah Dark Kuhniggit.

I believe yoshi has said he wanted dark knight to use a greatsword, I don't remember where though. Possibly int he expansion, but we wont know anything about that until october

Yeah, you're not alone. I love my paladin/warrior for tanking purposes, but I would love to have a fighter-class like said jobs but focused on DPS. Hopefully, if what Mr.Smily says is true, I would totally roll a DRK with greatsword. I don't like scythes.

As long as the greatswords are as massive as Garlands, Clouds, and Jetchs weapons.

Since people are throwing around the notion of dark knight and a dps class why not fuse the two? If DRK is a tank (and it should be), I believe that it should play the specialized OT role in end game and raids, similar to war pre 2.1. This would help solidify the two tank mechanic and w/o gimping the party as a whole.
