Spiritbind and main scenario

So, is it just me, or does main scenario roulette seem made for spiritbind? Plenty of weak mobs, 8-man content, and sections with OP weapons to clear out groups in seconds. It just makes sense to spiritbind in there. And yet, those two dungeons seem to have the most folks just wanting to skip all the monsters and be done with it.

It's kind of understandable, since folks may just want their daily myth, they don't get xp like lower dungeons, nor are people at risk of being undergeared for a speedrun like higher dungeons. But with novus weapons out, materia is in high demand, either to stockpile for your own weapon or to sell for gil.

Am I missing something here about how effective CM/Praetorium are for SB? Or should more people SB in those dungeons?

Yes it is indeed very effective.

However, its effective at the cost of other player's time. I personally bind on my own time, outside of dungeons.

Actually Water Sprites @South Shroud is very fast if you don't mind the repetitiveness involved. I find a WHM, BLM and TANK present makes it very easy.

Have you ever stopped to compare dugneon SB gain to Water Sprites? You might be surprised.

Yeah it is super fast with even a light party of humans all with chocobos out, and that way you kill two birds with one stone. (puns are delicious)


Plus there is a bevy of items/potions you can use to make the SBing go faster. Water sprites are the better way to go as long as the gear you are trying to SB is equal to or sub i55.

We have consistent SB parties in the Party Finder on Famfrit.

Also when I solo, I'm a WHM, so its not that slow either.

This, please. I ran a roulette once where the healer was spirit binding every single slot. It was terrible and he could barely keep up. If you want to spiritbond, make a party finder and do that crap with other people who want to spiritbond.

not necessarily. Having AF is the best option, but not the only one. If i decide to go in with full i55 gear, and i49 accessories...well good for me eh? : )

Take advanage in the way you can, and you also get to help others out, but it's in no way selfless...it will just help you sleep better at night

You could try to make your own spiritbinding party.

I meant that I see little difference between running a dungeon with folks willing to kill more monsters, and getting an open world SB party. Both rely on other people's time. I know water sprites are decent SB, but that camp also only supports 2 parties. On a more populated server that can cause issues.
