Does retainer class matter?

I only have the two default retainers, and decided to make on a CNJ, but I would like to make the other something that would be able to get different things so I don't miss out if there's anything they bring back later that's unique to their class.

Is there any difference between DoM and DoW retainers? What about DoL? How do the item pools (for all ventures, or rather, the ones that matter, I guess) change with each class?

i have for retainers. from what i noticed, the rewards for any battleclass seemed to be the same. so, i have a CNJ(i main as a WHM), a botanist, a miner, and a fisher. for the DoLs, what you get in the ventures are actual items that you can gather with that class.

I have yet to see any difference between the DoW and DoM classes, but the DoL classes are more focused on what each specializes in.

I think my miner retainer is confused then as he keeps bringing back fish o_O

Also to note from what I've seen, the DoW/DoM classes don't seem to gather more than 10 items in the 45-50 range no matter how high Ilvl is. DoL classes seem to be able to gather those higher items with a max of 30? Not at my pc so can't confirm this right of the bat

My Miqo'te retainer brings back nothing but fish, and is an archer. It's a conspiracy T_T

If you do quick exploration the retainer will bring bag random things (a lot of fish ^^) and it does NOT depend of the class.

For DoW/DoM, when i do 18h exploration with a WAR, I get some of the Mossy Stone item to craft i70 weapon, but he seems to bring only 5 out of 9 possible item. I got spear, axe, claws, invoker book and really rarely sword, he brang back nearly 5 or 6 of each (only 2 for sword) and never brang back the one for WHM, BLM, BRD, ERU.
So I think that the one I don't get may be gotten by other class of DoW/DoM.

(Botanist can bring the same as the WAR though)

DoW/DoM - Mossy Stone Spear, Mossy Stone Claws, Mossy Stone Sword
Miner - Mossy Stone Bow, Mossy Stone Staff
Botanist - Mossy Stone Axe, Weathered Tome
Fisher - Faded Tome, Mossy Stone Rod

Those are for XII ventures, XIV have only returned the bold ones for me (30+ ventures with each type)
