Level it to rank 10 and put all ur points into the healing and u get it.Should just show up in the barding section for Choco

There are 3 distinct armors you can earn for your chocobo. You need to reach rank 10 in the healing tree to get the white mage barding. Rank 10 in the tank and attack trees will give you the paladin and dragoon barding respectively.

Be aware that you only get the barding if you reach rank 10 in the specific tree. You can reach a rank10 chocobo by killing mobs but you will need FC housing and chocobo breeding (which may be expensive for you) to level your chocobo past 10 (max 20).

Since it wasn't mentioned, I just want to add that whatever barding you get first is permanent so if you max out the Healing tree and choose to reset the points to have a more versatile chocobo, you won't lose the barding but on the other hand you won't be able to get the other ones unless you take your chocobo past rank 10.

I'm not sure how many points you get per rank past 10 (My chocobo is 75% of the way to rank 11) but SE confirmed themselves that you need to break the chocobo level cap to get multiple bardings. You can't get multiple by changing around points, I'm assuming the game keeps track of how many points your chocobo has and won't unlock a 2nd or 3rd barding set until you have X amount.

Around level 15 the Chocobo should have enough points for a 2nd rank 10 role.

2.3 brought in Reagan Peppers you can buy from your GC to reset them. They cost 40-some-thousand GC seals. Use it from your inventory and you get to redistribute any points your chocobo has earned.
