they should give a super saiyan head gear that makes the entire character have an aura that doubles the stats on the rest of your gear for being #1. /thumbsup

You get a lot of Vanity items from ingame achievements. Also companions, minions, titles and choccobo bardings. Sounds already good to me. They could maybe add some special fan gifts like Wallpapers or exclusive sound files from the FF series.

Having an opinion does not make you right or wrong, it simply means you have an opinion. Don't get irritated when people don't agree.

I get the whole "achievements are achievements" thing, but why bother attaching a number to them if the number's not going to do anything? No one other than you can even see the number. Why not put the number to use or get rid of it entirely?
You can see the number on lodestone.

if anything at all, they should maybe reward you with a titel after amounts of points aquired.
achievement points are meassurements to show how far you have progressed in the game.there are players that simply finish their achievements for the sake of progression.
but since everyones playstyle greatly varies, item rewards should strictly be kept to the various achievements themself.by obtaining those items you already show that you've advanced in various tasks of the game (crafting tools, materia crown, total enemies killed, etc.)
the points you obtain were never ment to reward you with items, rather show how far you've progressed.

I always figured the achievement points, if they had to symbolize anything, a player character's reputation throughout Eorzea. Bragging rights indeed, but ones that players could get recognized for amongst NPCs, like shopkeepers who would be willing to sell special items only to those they deem "worthy".if anything at all, they should maybe reward you with a titel after amounts of points aquired.

Not YET.
Yeah, this could be the simplest answer. Titles could be silly like some of the others we have already:
Go-Getter
High Achiever
Overachiever

I have over 4000 2.0 achievement points, and I think the e-peen boost I get from that is more than reward enough already.
Ah, I'm feeling rewarded right now ;p

I would personally just like for my achievements to show on Lodestone - unless they already do and I'm just totally not seeing it - the way they show on the armoury for WoW. I like browsing people's achievements to see what they've done and haven't done. It shows what kinda player they are, it's neat. :3
