Question about rank 10 barding

I currently have a rank 9 healer chocobo, but I want the DPS barding, would it be possible to -let's say- when the bird is almost rank 10 (1-2 kill exp to get to 10) reset my SP, put all points into DPS, get rank 10 and the DPS barding and then switch back to healer chocobo?

Or another way to say it: Do you retain the first barding you obtain if you reset your horsebird's SP?

Whatever you get to rank 10 in first is what you get the barding for, so if you want the DPS one you need to reset your points, put them all into DPS, then reset them again. You will keep the original barding, according to what others have been saying.

What Estellios said is correct.

Whatever you first rank to 10 is what you will get the barding for. You can then reset it and respec your chocobo however you want.

You however cannot rank 10 one, get that barding and then reset, rank another to 10 and get that barding as well.

So in your case, reset your choco to be DPS and hit rank 10 as that, get the Dragoon Barding (I have it and it looks awesome) and then reset your choco and put it back to being a healer.

I think I'm going hybrid after I get the DPS barding, hybrid seems to be the best choice.
