Easy question, I think: What roles can an Arcanist queue as in the Duty Finder? Can they play healer, or DPS only?
Thanks!

DPS only.
10 character requirement.
It's pretty to solo heal as ACN 15-30 before you get your SCH stone tbh
I've healed low level dungeons as both acn and thm. I've had carbuncle tank while I healed because the queue to find a tank was ridiculously long. However, for the purpose of df, you will be queued in as dps. If you wish to heal these as acn I suggest getting a pre-made party of 4. That will bypass any class restrictions df imposes.
Arcanist can only queue as dps. If you pick up the Scholar job, that is a healer.
Same with me! Granted I've only done it as a level 50 SMN while level-synced down in dungeons lower than level 30, but it is definitely doable - you just have to be on your toes and ready to spam Physick. Using ACN/SMN as main healer also can be more handicapped in that you won't have access to debuff-removing spells that CNJ/WHM and SCH have, which start to become increasingly common.I've healed low level dungeons as both acn and thm. I've even been called upon to actually take over as main healer in a Brayflox run as SMN due to the actual healer in the party not having quite grasped the fundamentals of healing and thus kept getting incapacitated - I got three commendations for that.
But main healing on ACN/WHM is still very much possible, and can actually be very fun given the added complexity and challenge. And as you stated, the only way you can do this is to enter a dungeon with a premade party without a healing Job to bypass the Duty Finder restrictions.
