    After the trial, now what?

    Hi guys,

I've been playing FFO for some time now on my PS3, but I want to switch to PC, because the PS3 has some lag problems which are really a pain in events as the battle against Titan. (and people get all hate over me because of that)
Now, I'm downloading the trial as we speak and I want to check it out before I transfer my account to PC, BUT.... the download is the complete game (if I'm nog mistaken about 11GB of data). Do I still have to buy it again for PC or can I just log in with my PS3 account?

    thanks in advance.

Yes if you wish to use the PC or PS3 you must have a registration code to play the PC version. I believe they are connected once you do that so you have the option of playing on PS3 or PC. Don't quote me on that as I've only heard you can.

I can confirm that the same account can be used to play on all 3 platforms, but you do need to purchase a license for each one of them separately

Yes in order to play on multiple platforms you need to register product codes for each platform on your same service account. So if you only had PS3 before, you will need to buy a copy of the PC version in order to get the product code. Downloading the free trial client just lets you play the game for a period of time without needing a product code. After the free trial ends you won't be able to log in to the PC version anymore.

The easiest way to be able to continue to play the game would be to purchase a digital download version of the game. This will give you a product code in your email which should let you continue to play without needing to install a new client.

Once the PC version product code is registered to the same service account as the PS3 version, you will be able to log in to both platforms whenever you want without needing to pay additional monthly fees. However, you can not log in to the same account simultaneously on different platforms, even if you are using different characters. So don't think that this will be a way for someone in your household to be able to play the game with you, or as a form of dual-boxing.

Once bought for the pc all is not lost though. The only thing I've seen not transfer is the data files for gear sets hot bars etc. But you can still play on both. To the point that you can play different toons on different servers at the same time

Really, I had very little issues playing on my PS3 last year. There was some issues the first week after relaunch but after that I had very little to no issues. I am now playing on the PS4 and so far no real issues. Sorry to hear your having problems.

Its entirely possible it was your internet connection or the fact that you were connected over WiFi (if you were).

I play on PS3 and don't really have much trouble at all. I just made sure to use a wired connection. It's not ideal, and some loading times are slower than PC.

If you prefer sticking with the console, then upgrading the PS3's hard drive to a solid-state one makes a big improvement on its loading times. (I know it helps with the loading screen time between zones. Logically it should also help with the issue loading of many characters in a crowded area, but that's a combination of loading and memory, so I'm not as certain.)

But yeah, if your PC is decent and you don't mind the change of gaming venue, then getting the PC version works, too.
