Buying a Steam Copy of FFXIV to pay for non-steam FFXIV account

    Hello,

So, I've been unable to find a way to successfully pay for my subscription through any of the payment methods (SE support was unable to provide a solution) and i'm unable to buy game time cards. So I was wondering if I bought the steam version of FFXIV would I be able to use Steam Wallet to pay for my non-steam version of FFXIV?

I'm guessing that I probably won't be able to since it'll probably be considered as a different service account? If so, does anyone know if it's possible to transfer my character on my current service account to the steam service account?

If you buy the steam version, just use your current login info, it isnt a new service account. If you have a friend who wants teh game, you can give them the code steam gives you so they have a copy of the game (they just wont have a steam version tied to their steam account)

Sorry, but I don't think that will work.

It will indeed put it in their Steam library (I bought it again to do this to count playtime), but it won't give you extra payment options/Steam wallet, or at least it hasn't for me.

That Steam Wallet option seems to be somehow linked to the code Steam gives out, but that's new accounts only.

You can't (generally) transfer characters between service accounts. There were some instances on the forums of SE support doing that in the past for people who registered them to the wrong account, but that seems to be very rare/not usually permitted.
