Mystery gun class possibly heals

So I'm thinking this gun class coming out might actually be one of the promised heal classes that will be coming with the expansion. They did say it would not be what people expect. Could probably work like the Bounty Hunter's Mercenary bodyguard skill tree from SWTOR. Shooting up people with kolto bullets.

To expand: This isn't Star Wars. This is Final Fantasy. FF has a very established 'lore' - there is a grand majority of healers to choose from within the established lore. They would use one of these more mass appeal healers; before doing something stupid like that.

Chemist. They probably wouldn't shoot bullets as people but they would more likely mix and throw potions. I also think that the gunner class will be a healer as well. There's a gun class coming out and a healer and a tank coming out.

You act as if there are no gun based healing classes. And the MMO, "Final Fantasy", dosen'y follow lore that well. Look at wyvern pets in ff11

I would like to see the chemist class from tactics where it has a gun and uses potions. That way potions are actually used and give them a skill that allows them to use or throw potion with out a cool down timer

It was already discussed a lot, and in fact the chemist would have been a good guess.

However, on a more recent interview (can't find the link, will update if I find it again, maybe it was in the live letter at E3), Yoshida announced that the gunner class would be a support, the very first support class in the game (as opposed to the bard which is a dps with support abilities), and that by that time there would be more supports coming. That led people think more about FFXI corsair or FFX-2 blue mage

If it is truly a support class they better change the number of players in a party 4/8 is simply too low to allow another role.

There already are healer gun classes in FF - flintock, and for a more support orianted healer, agent.

A lot of players already discussed viable ways a gun-wielding healer (Chemist) could function in FFXIV, back to before the game even went live. It's not terribly unlikely or infeasible, just that I think many players will get angry if the gun class finally gets released with only a healer job branching from it.

This is why I am actually more curious when the developers will follow through with their plans for each class to have a 2nd job. I actually also found it a bit strange that Rogue released with just Ninja and no 2nd job the way Arcanist did (okay, not "strange" but I was disappointed). Obviously not until after an expansion and possible level cap increase where jobs can get more abilities to set them apart.

I would appreciate anything you find. I kind of wonder what happens to low-man (4 people) content when you throw a pure-support slot into the mix.
