The only problem with running CT (aka. LoA) is that the que times are undoubtedly long and possibly even non-existent. Not to mention you're probably more likely to get trolls that que in rather than people that actaully want to do CT for the loot.

I say this because LoA has been outdated, and everybody is either doing Hunts or ST nowadays.

But people still do the Roulettes.

In the time it takes to get a full set of CT gear, which is i80, you could easily get a full set of myth gear, which is i90.
Spamming it to get a full set may be a waste, but the odd drop or two would be nice. CT is 200 myth per run, so OP could afford the myth gear fairly quickly, but why spend all that myth when they're just looking to get into ST to replace that gear anyway? A mix of myth and i80 gear could easily get them into ST where they could get even better gear, and then they have extra myth to spend on other things as well.

@OP - if you get to i70 you can also go into the first turn of the Binding Coil of Bahamut for some i90 gear.

Work on unlocking those roulettes, all lvl 50 dungeons will give you bonus myth for being a first timer, it should take no more than a couple days to get enough myth to get beyond i70, plus i90 gear can let you do pretty much all content this game has to offer.

OP asked for the fastest way to gear up. Not the "correct" way. The answer is hunts. But the time the first roulette is done you could have had two myth accessories from hunts. The other way to do it is to drop about 4 million gil on crafted gear.

EDIT: Let's put it this way; in a night of hunting (5ish hours), I fully geared two jobs in i90 gear and capped Soldiery.

Buying in the MB is still faster than hunting. ilevel70 gear is not expensive anymore. It don't need to be HQ.

If you would rather not participate in hunts, and I TOTALLY understand if you don't, there's a few options you can do to gear up, but be aware that it will take a bit of time and work from you to get up to 70

Amdapor Keep, and Wanderer's Palace drop Ilvl 55 gear and 30 Myth tomes

Pharos Sirius, Haukke Manor Hard, and Copperbell Hard drop ilvl 60 gear and 50 Myth tomes

The Lost City of Amdapor, Halatali hard, and Braflox's Longstop hard drop ilvl 70 gear and 70 Myth tomes

Labyrinth of the Ancients (CT1) drops ilvl 80 gear and 200 Myth tomes (although the Queue is quite long unless you're a tank or healer)

All of these also give a myth tome bonus if it's your first time running it, or the first time of someone else in the party

What I would do is run a mix of all of those dungeons to keep from going insane from the monotony, lot on any gear that you can wear, and use your tomestones to upgrade to your ilvl 90 accessories first, because they are the cheapest and will raise your ilvl the fastest. And, of course, once you have run all of those dungeons at least once (excluding CT1) you open up high level roulette, which will net you an extra 100 myth tomes per day. And, if you haven't already, either start on a relic weapon, get yourself a primal weapon, or buy one of the ilvl 70 weapons off of the market board. Also, you can run your Main scenario roulette for another 130 tomestones per day, and your low level roulette for another 100 tomestones per day. Beast tribe quests also give Myth tomestones, but only 30-60 per day depending on your rank within each tribe, so they're kind of a bit of a waste of time unless you really want to rank them up for the mounts.
