I think the idea was came from "listening to some players" who only play one day a week... ^^;...When the first coil / Myth sets came out, you could get the same ilevel gear. For whatever stupid idea, they separated it so Soldiery gear needs even more work. Top it off with the fact that not all coil gear is BIS, just proves its stupidity. Remember you already had to deal with the weekly lockouts on soldiery to get the weathered, so all the hunts do is BALANCE them to the coil drops like they were in 2.0...
I saw ppl said hunting is handing out gear with no effort then I saw ppl said it is very hard to get reward in hunting.
If both true, then I think the dificulty of hunting is getting reward?
If I were SE, why fix it? Increase marks' HP = lower the difficulty, and ppl is complaining it is too easy?! ^^;;
I don't find hunt unfair unless you are on a personal race for upgrade and you are losing.
I'm in no race or competition. People shout position, I ask for party, I run to the place and after a few we kill the monster, everybody thanks everybody, we disband and some people moan and rage because they are too slow (even slower than me, how is that possible ?).
If I'm too late, I'll just think "That's just 5 seals I didn't get".
If 100+ players are teleporting to same Area it will need time to load the Area - its same as the Atomos fight in 1.x (SE should have known the outcome)
If you are in Area when someone shouts, you mostly catch it in time.
Because stupid timer and RNG players in a Group spread out to different Areas and search for Monsters.
You can not Camp Monsters and thats the problem with raging because they put some effort to find it.
I just don't understand why people care so much about others getting the chance to upgrade their gear outside of coil. I myself hunt occasionally when i'm not doing EX primals or coils, and i'm happy that it provides an alternative way to get my item lvl up especially when I haven't been that lucky with the primal/coil drops.
It's not like SE is taking everyones achievements away with these rewards. You cleared SCoB several times and got some nice gear? Well good for you. Let others do what they want and gear up alternative ways for whatever reasons they are doing it.
I'm all for alternative ways of gearing. What I'm not for is certain content (HUNTS) out-rewarding other content (dailies, dungeons, CT, Coil) Either nerf the 1 single imbalanced content rewards, or adjust the rest of the rewards around that imbalanced content.
I hunt. I warp from zone to zone and cap my soldiery in a few hours at a single sitting,I'll have myth and allied notes out my ears. But that doesn't stop me from recognizing that everything else in the game isn't worth doing because the rewards aren't on the same level as hunts.
This. I enjoy hunts, love my hunt linkshell, etc... but the whole system would be better with caps on rewards.I'm all for alternative ways of gearing. What I'm not for is certain content (HUNTS) out-rewarding other content (dailies, dungeons, CT, Coil) Either nerf the 1 single imbalanced content rewards, or adjust the rest of the rewards around that imbalanced content.
Ease of gear progression negates other more interesting content.
100+ people killing a monster in 15-20 seconds while it flashes in and out existence is lame and uninteresting... But we do it anyways due to rewards.
Community trying to place morally right vs wrong arguments to how hunts should be performed causes a pretty wide divide. I've been on both sides, missed large monsters due to people not waiting and getting screwed out of contribution due to some white knight resetting for the greater good while screwing over others in the process. /shrug I just move on in either case.
While I think we need alternate i110 progression to get ready for next big content patch the implementation is lacking in general.
