Switching between Mouse Mode and Gamepad Mode

Hi,
Is there a way to switch between Mouse Mode and Gamepad mode with a keyboard shortcut?
I'm currently levelling Fishing and the game is much more fun if I switch to Gamepad Mode, alt-tab into something to read and use gamepad to fish from another window. But each time to switch between modes I have to go to Character Configuration and flip the switch between modes.

.... This question was never answered, and I find myself in need of this very thing as well today.

I had surgery on my dominant hand today. Typing is comfortable, using a gamepad is comfortable, but using a mouse is is not.

I would like to be able to press a macro on my keyboard to swap over to gamepad mode, without having to go through the character configuration menu and press the switch. Is there not a simple UI command to swap modes that can be macro'd, at all? This is basically the one system config item that can't be dragged to the hotbar, it seems.

Just a simple "/gamepad on" and "/gamepad off" would do it. It would allow me to swap modes without touching the mouse at all.

the text command /characterconfig will bring up that interface. It doesn't look like it has subcommands though. Not sure if that helps or not.
