Gardening Questions

Read quite a bit about gardening, and I'm looking for some clarification.

1 - Intercrossing - is this determined by what is next to your seed when you plant it, or harvest, somewhere in between, or can a combination?

2 - Shroud Soil - used some of this, and got 9 seeds from a plant. Is this possible with all seeds, or just the low/mid level ones?

3 - Grow times - I know the big excel sheet has grow times, but there's a lot of variance for the same type of seed. Is there a place with grow times listed by seed type?

1 - it is determined by what is next to the seed at the moment of planting, nothing else.

2 - it might be possible but the crossing chance is low. The only reason it is useful for chocobo food is because getting double the yield is very useful and krakka seeds grow quickly and are sold by an NPC. I doubt many people would be willing to test it with other seeds which take a long time and don't get any extra yields on the items they produce.

3 - The variance is likely due to people using Fertilizer and reporting their growth times. As far as I know there is nowhere that lists actual growth times without Fertilizer.
