FFXIV:ARR Lag and Verizon FiOS - Action Requested

Fellow Verizon FiOS users, for those of you who don't feel paying money for a third-party VPN is an acceptable solution, please perform the following steps:
1) Find your server on http://www.arrstatus.com/
2) Perform a trace route (ex: Windows command "tracert 199.91.189.38")
3) Open a trouble ticket with Verizon FiOS.
4) Provide the IP chain from the route. Insist it be escalated to the network team.
5) Tell your friends who use FiOS.

This is the ONLY way we will see a resolution. Dealing with it by either avoiding the laggy times, or using a vpn will continue to allow subpar service for all FiOS users. Massive complaints about the issue will drive action.

Can you elaborate what is causing this? I have FIOS and while my connection is mostly okay, there are some nights where I get bursts of 2-3 second delays.

Don't forget that Verizon recently admitted (while trying to place blame on L3) that they intentionally bottleneck their customers. So part of the issue may very well be with Verizon and there's not much you can do about it except switch. So complain to Verizon as well.

Now that isn't to say that the net code for this game is bass ackwards, because it is. Just don't eliminate the possibility that Verizon (much like Comcast) is being a low-down, dirty, good-for-nothing douchebag.

I have FiOS and haven't had any issues with lag or delays.

Yeah, FiOS lag is terrible sometimes.
I have 100mbs, still lag worse than I did on my 5mb/s elsewhere in FFXIV.
Shame, really.
