I've been wondering, what language will the fest in Tokyo be in? Will it be all in Japanese, or will it be in English? Or both?
Need this info to decide, whether I'll go to London or to Tokyo.

Common sense is not so common.
i dont know. its in japan. there might be some parts in english, and the other participants MIGHT speak english, but dont bet on either of those thing. the fact that they have two other festivals where english is the primary language, i highly doubt they will plan to include a lot of it in english for the one in japan. it is japan.
I tend to think the same thing, but wanted to hear some info from officials. 'cause I'd prefer to go to Tokyo. But language barrier maybe too strong for me int hat case =(
i know what you mean, tokyo would be amazing, but i dont want to risk that kind of money on the hopes that there might be english portions available. my initial thoughts are that, yes, they would have something, just because there is a large playerbase for english-speaking people, but they have already catered to that playerbase, so it decreases the likelihood.
all-in-all, if you are wanting a good experience where you can understand most things people say, dont take the risk of going to tokyo, no matter how awesome it will be.
I’ve gone to a convention in Tokyo before. Pretty much all of it is in Japanese with the exception of some translated english words. Most Japanese do not understand verbal English but a decent amount understand most written English, especially around the Tokyo area.
Chances are everything will be in japanese. I would only recommend going to the Tokyo one if you plan on making use of your travel time and visit other locations while in Japan. (You can check out the new FFXIV Cafe and the Square Enix Cafe)
You be better off going to the London Fan Fest because pretty much 90 to 95% will all be just Japenesse at the Fan Fest in Tokyo... It is just plain commen since... and if they do have English.. it might just be only the NA Community Team heading down their translating like they did in the last FFXI Fan fest in Japan.
