SE's most difinitive statement yet on parsers

    http://na.finalfantasyxiv.com/lodest...f3ced33db772cf

Key statement is the second to last paragraph: "We would also like to remind players that third-party tools that modify or parse game data violate the User Agreement, and that players who are found to be using these tools will be met with strict disciplinary action."

I apologize if someone else has posted this info. I looked and couldn't find a thread on today's statement. Note that this time they specifically mentioned parsers by name (in the past they have typically stated, in response to questions on whether parsers are ok, that 3rd party programs that affect game play are not permitted, making it pretty clear they were referring to parsers but some have argued otherwise). Even more significant, they made this statement in a posting on banning actions taken against players for TOS violations.

No offense, but if people think radar actually has a significant impact on Hunts, they'll be quite upset upon learning of the real issues with Hunts.
Also, while it is known/obvious what SE stance is on third party mods, parsers help more than harm you, if used properly.

I'm pro modding, in case you couldn't tell.
Mods extend the life of any game. MMO or not.

It's sad if you think parsers and game sharks are at all similar to each other (also do they even make game sharks anymore?)

No such thing when mods and tools are designed to break a game. It's just an excuse

You are labeling all mods, including quality of life mods, as the same.
I can't take you seriously at this point.

Unfortunately FFXI is a prime example of when parsing was not used properly. WoW is also a prime example. Both player bases have some form of toxicity and elitism when it comes to endgame game play. This was mostly because of the fact that the playerbase was allowed to parse. WoW being the bigger culprit of this as all information regarding the game was oftentimes exposed to the player base only to amplify the issues of people being excluded and treated differently during their career time at endgame content and eventually the fights evolved around this concept of parsed data.

People used parsers in 11? I've never experienced that. Maybe it's because the playerbase was a lot better at MMOs than these 5 year olds today that cry this game is so hard.
