It is not possible to work out your own dot based DPS in an encounter without the use of 3rd party software.

Don't get me wrong, it's possible to analyse dots individually by watching flying text, but it is effectively useless as soon as you get multiple sources of damage coming in. Trying to work out your own dot DPS via a replay or is not humanly possible. How much of an issue it is depends on the job. SMN have it the worst by a long way. Scholars DPSing parts of T9 also share the same issue.
