SE's most difinitive statement yet on parsers

In which we have this addict level of "I can't live without it" that has produced such a state of mind in these people that you can no longer reason with. Since you constantly see them constantly drag it back to the same vicious cycle that consist of insults and belittlement.

Haha, so true. It's the dependency on parsers which paved way for the mindset behind the silent-Bards out there. Thanks to this addiction (good call btw) players have completely forgotten about team work and what is best for the team to accomplish a win (like sacrificing some DPS so your healer can last a while longer). Its all ... "well im DPS/HPS, so thats all I need to do... parser says im doing good and if I dont someone is going to call me out." There is a recent thread FULL of these claims and yet they still deny that parsers are a detriment to the community. Oh but no WE are the ones ignoring facts... right....

I mean parsers have a small chance at helping a few top competitive guilds defeat a handful of bosses with an even remotely challenging enrage timer sooner than other guilds, so obviously developers around the world should overlook the type of environment they help cause and just allow them everywhere.

It's really sadly what it does to players. I've seen so many guilds end up in drama then breaking up because of parser data in other MMO's and ever since people started using here because of the desire to be more informed and down BCoB/Extreme primals by 2.2 surely enough it happens all over again.

Players focus so much on their own numbers and interpretations of someone else's that it creates an unhealthy mindset of, oh I have to deal top DPS and rub it in and if someone under performs they are "wasting my time" a quote that gets use often now. Regardless of reasons.

The dependency alone is what baffles me when such players end up claiming that nothing can be done in-game without them.

They think we are the ones trying to prevent their "quality of life". Square-Enix did it for a reason and they can't even realize how unhealthy this addiction and obsession has gotten for them because they turned a simple tool into such a necessity.

Go ahead. If it's such a vicious cycle, it's safe to assume you have quite a few example to support your arguments. You do have some, don't you ?

They don't care about parsing unless its used to target specific a specific player in a party and single them out - resulting in that player's ability to enjoy the game.
