Would like a longer grace period on super long queues in the duty finder

I would like to see the time given to hit accept equal to 45 seconds or 5% of the total time that you spent in the queue (whichever is longer). So for example, if you spend 30 minutes (1,800 seconds) in the queue, you would get 90 seconds to hit accept rather than the normal 45.

Alternate ideas are to add an option to say “I’m here and want to go into the dungeon, but I can’t at this moment”, which would give you a little bit of extra time. Or even to just add an option to request to skip the current available slot but then to be placed back in the front of the queue.

It is really frustrating to miss a queue because we are stuck in combat and can’t change jobs.

It is also a pain to have to:

    * Skip a cut scene and/or quest dialog (alternatively let us reset the cut scene/dialog to the start after we get out of the duty)
    * Abandon the crafting of an expensive item when we don’t want to risk losing the mats.
    * Abandon a fate/hunt that we have been working on for several minutes.

Also, there is always the: go afk for 2 minutes to change your laundry, and come back and see that you missed the 30 minute queue.

no, cause the other 3 of us are sitting there waiting for you for 2 minutes while you do your laundry and fail to hit accept and the next person theirs and the next person theirs, which happens, Im sitting staring at my screen for 10 minutes instead of 3. You think its not fair to you, what about the other 3?

45 seconds is ample time to run out of range, sheath your weapon, hit 1 button to change jobs and then accept or if its just 1, kill your mob and then do the rest.

There is a book in your room that allows you to rewatch cutscenes

That's the risk you take crafting high lvl items while you are in df

45 extra seconds rarely would make a difference on this, again the chance you take. I have abandoned and requeued many a time due to a fate for my animus.

again I don't want to wait 2-3 or more minutes for you to do your laundry every time I queue. Cause if you miss that one and the next person theirs and the next person theirs, which happens, Im sitting staring at my screen for 10 minutes instead of 3. Yeah, glad to know that sitting and waiting around for the DF pop is the highly prized playstyle encouraged here, rather than making efficient use of time by completing other tasks while you wait. Unless something has changed, I thought that you also had to wait on the cooldown of switching to your chosen class before the queue actually locked you in....

That would mean 15 seconds to finish ANYTHING you were doing, from combat to crafting/gathering to have enough time for the 30 second cooldown. I could be wrong, though...

If you're in town, you don't get the issue with the cooldowns.

I'm gonna have to say I disagree with the concept of having a longer grace period. The rest of us are already waiting long enough on the person that doesn't click. The DF queues are already frustrating enough. Asking us to wait several minutes for each person that's not clicking is kind of ridiculous. :/

Well as it is now for long queues, I actually usually hold my piss while I’m waiting for the queue because I don’t want to go afk to pee and risk missing the queue. Then I AFK for the first 3 minutes of a run while I go to the bathroom . So ya, which would you rather have?

Not always. Especially when you are in a high level zone and while running away from 1 mob, you aggro more high level mobs.

But that doesn't help you with quest dialog. And you can only watch cut scenes after you have finished the quest. For the longer quests with multiple cut scenes, this means that you have to watch them out of order.

Agree with you there...but like I said it is a pain and shouldn't have to be this way.

Don't agree with you there. I have had to abandon many fates which are under 25% in order to enter my duty (at least when I manage to get out of combat in time), which I would have easily completed in the next 30 seconds.

If you absolutely must finish something that you are doing while waiting, you can always withdraw when it pops or just let it go and requeue when you get the chance. All about what you prioritize.

I don't think it should extend the time you allowed to accept, but give you a few chances. Miss it 3 times and then your status is withdrawn.

I would prefer a npc filling needed spots in the Queue if the wait is more then say 15 minutes or so solution. Even 10 minutes seems excessive, but dependant on other players finding the activity worthwhile.

    Sorry for your luck.
