    Suggestion to prevent DF trolling

I've had this happen a few times, but having a tank/healer fill the last spot in DF queue and then immediately quit, or wait for the timer to nearly end before withdrawing repeatedly is absurd. This morning I went through about 30 minutes of (what I assume is) the same tank joining and withdrawing from ST queue. I assume it was the same person because I had been queued for a while before the duty finally popped - my wife was separately queued as a healer - and after 20 minutes of waiting we were in the same queue.

My suggestion would be to apply a 1 minute restriction to joining DF queues if someone chooses to withdraw. This prevents a tank/healer/dps from repeatedly filling the same spot and wasting everyone else's time (and hopefully would let a serious player enter the queue in the mean time). At the same time, if someone withdrew from queue because they are finishing a fate/whatever - a 1 minute penalty shouldn't really affect them.

I would even rise the 1 min penalty to 5 min, but not without seperating in-progress queues from full queues. Most of this happens when players look for a specific party to help out an FC member who got stuck in a duty, when some other player left or dc'd. Or they just want to join an in-progress run, for which I strongly recommend to give two seperate options when beginning to queue for something. Or a confirmation window before including the player into a party/instance. Something like: open duty finder, select duty, select in-progress or full, accept. It is especially annoying for Crystal Tower, the old labyrinth or the new Syrcus, and I do believe seperating these two options would help ease the frustration. Since they included the entire data center this time to match us up, we should not wait that long anyways... right?

I always thought that it was the first to queue for that role got in first and if withdrawn only to requeue then you'd be back at the end of the line. Is this assumption not correct?

either way if there should be a penalty then ALL should get it whether they're finishing something or not. Don't queue if you aren't serious enough to join if preoccupied, there are others waiting to get in as well and it's not fair to make them wait as well just because you want to finish a fate. That's where the problem stems from in the first place, people won't requeue when afk...

you are right, but if no one else is queueing, you are first in line no matter what.

i was in AV, and our healer left us. after 5 minutes, i had them kick me so i could requeue as WHM. i was in the same dungeon, with the same people, in seconds. if there isnt a line, you will always get the same duty and the same group.

This this this a thousand times this! There needs to be a penalty. Somewhere in the range of 3-5 mins feels right. I mean, the assumption should be that if you can't hit the accept button, you're too busy to do it right now. I know a lot of people use it to join in in progress runs to let's say, help their friends after a tank or healer or something bailed. But this is, I have to say, not the way the system was intended to be used. If it was, there would be some form of outside recruitment party filler feature. This, however, would come with problems of it's own. I've heard of accounts where a duo or partial party who queued together will vote kick another member mid run to make room for a friend/fc mate. In any case, yes dear lord please implement a withdraw penalty.

While some of the queue/withdraw is due to douchebaggery (such as people only wanting PT in progress), other people are doing it for less nefarious reasons. Such as trying to get into a duty roulette with a friend. That may result in my queue/withdraw.

SE could at least fix THAT problem by letting us queue in DR with other at least one other person, like how we can do that in expert roulette.

Sooooooo... what you're telling me, is that when a queue gets withdrawn within the first few seconds, let's say, 27 times in a row, in the span of just 2-3 minutes, your assumption is that it's 27 totally unrelated people that by sheer coincidence decide as soon as the queue pops that they don't want to do it and withdraw? Golly gee, now that you mention it that DOES sound way more plausible than a single person fishing for an in progress. /sarcasm

A lot of reasons are out there for why your duty cancels. People are watching movies while q'd and don't have the game sound on while minimized, they had to go pee, getting a drink, kids were jumping on the couch and one fell off and bumped his/her head....etc. Some are just looking for that speciffic area in a duty (KB in CT, 2/4, 3/4 in ST) etc.. A penalty will not stop it. I also don't think a penalty is fair. Things happen that cause to you miss your Q, sh*t happens. One shouldn't get a penalty for that. Players are who they are, they will continue to play the way they want to play, regardless of how much waawaa goes on.
