Any comment on Food in Frontlines? I've found the extra VIT to at least be somewhat useful so far. The other stats are hard to cap though (for Paladin at least), so Black Truffle Risotto is probably not ideal.

Devs have confirmed it already. I am not about to dig up the post, but it is somewhere on the ffxiv forums.

For both Frontline and the Wolves’ Den, physical defense and magical defense are nullified, and battle balance was adjusted based on this. Due to this, Foresight, Protect, and other actions that boost your defense will not have an effect during battle.

I will be compiling your feedback and forwarding it to the devs regarding having this information appear in-game.

the max bonus from loosing caps at:
1st - 600/900
2nd - 450/600
3rd - 300/450
and placing 2nd or 3rd does NOT reset the counter (increments by 20 for the 3rd place)

Nice guide! Im not even close of going FL, but i got some questions:

1) What "BiS" means?

2) There is some way to rise elemental resistance?

3) Skills like fist of earth and rampart still works to reduce incoming damage? Or it is just like protect and foresight?

4) It is a safe way to a dps put points on vit to rise survivability?

Best in slot, it is a term used mostly to describe the best possible gear for what stat you want.
Using primal weapons would be the only way at the moment.
Some abilities do not boost defense, but reduce incoming damage so they should work if you take the quote I posted above word for word.
It is safe for dps but you lose bits of damage, finding a comfort zone or balance would be best for you. I can advise that average crits are 1500 to 2103 for my PvP Black Mage but not often as I am being hit by many people.
