I personally think it is completely absurd to make PVP Gear in Carteneau completely unusable. (Moral and materia don't have any effect)
The intention of Yoshi P. (as much as I like his work), it would deter many players to participate in Carteneau PVP. The question is, why should I participate in Carteneau if not for highend PVP Gear? It simply makes no sense to me, personally. It is like if you would make PVM highend Gear ineffective in battles like Coil or Ramuh. It is just totally mind freed. No one would strive for good PVM gear and dungeon/boss runs, too.
When the PVP Stat "morality" is too strong you probably should think about to " balance" (nerf) it right. Or to introduce more different pvp stats (for example damage alleviation caused by other players, increasing casting concentration etc.), that you have for example 3 armor parts with +morality and 4 parts with + concentration instead of 7 armor parts with +morality . However, it may not be the right way to make PVP gear completely unusable in PVP content.
Above all, why should players be less feared away in WOLVES DEN arena PVP where all stats work completely? On the contrary, in Arena pvp you have just 2 small groups competing against each other in a very small place. Here it is much more "worse" to meet well-equipped PVP players than on a huge openworld map like Carteneau, where 3 Groups compete against each other on each side..
Dear Yoshi P. if you have really played games like "Dark Age of Camelot" (according to your statement), you should know what brings some "spice" and excitement into PVP .. Sometimes it is not the "political" correctness in every aspects of the game to make the content worth to play.. The fact that some players are better equipped than others exists since the MMORPG genre, regardless of PVP or PVM. its always something that drives the players to make specific content! At the drastic shrinking participation in Carteneau you may see that the current path (no risks for all) may NOT be the right one ..
PVP players must be able to professionalize the same as PVM players. In terms of skills AND equipment. And as i said to make an exeption for Arena pvp is even more illogical to me. (2 small groups in a small arena in contrast to 9 groups on a huge map)
