    Tips and tricks for BLM t8

    Hi folks,

    So usually I tank t8, but sometimes it's more convenient to switch to DPS alt. Hoping people here have comments on the finer points of BLM on this.

    Background: BLM so far has been hitting 280-300 DPS t8 vs. 330-340 on a dummy. Hoping to bring the t8 number up a bit. (These numbers are long term sustained -- NOT short burst.)

    1. Moving to tag towers: My plan so far is to move before tower even comes up. Hopefully during a proc. Maybe Aetherial Manipulation back to party -- Macro it to a focus'd healer perhaps?

    2. Moving out of Ballistic Missile: I guess this is just simple move out/move back and take the hit to DPS? Any way to keep up DPS during this other than Scathe or a lucky proc? Should be short time, but every bit counts. Is Surecast worth wiping the dust off?

    3. Let other people do mines as much as possible. But in a pinch, are they magic or physical damage?

    4. Dreadnoughts: How much to worry about taking agro off of tank? (single tank) Need to time Quelling Strikes? I've seen the tank side, so definitely can't go full throttle immediately.

    5. Basic rotation: I'm not expecting any change here, but will throw it out just in case.
    T2 > F3 > F1s & procs until low mana > (If cooldowns, then Swiftcast > Flare > Convert > F1) > B3 > repeat.
    T2 becomes T3 when first engage boss, or whenever expecting to do the extra Flare/convert/F1 steps.
    RS + int pot starting at first F1.

    2. Ballistic Missile is on a timer. once you more comfortable with the fight. you should be able to save some procs for it.
    3. Land Mind is magic damage I believe. you mana ward will work against it.

    1) I use <mo> with aetherial manipulation, but I only move after a proc, or if I need to get back for a mechanic. I usually have enough time to move back between casts
    2) Don't need to if you "cut casts" for movement. If you start moving at the end of the cast, it will still cast and you get more time to move.
    3) Manaward
    4) I use quelling on Dreads
    5) F3> 5 xF1> B3 then either (T1+wait), (T2), (T1+B1). Depending on your spellspeed, it depends which one is better (and your mana tick luck), but the difference between the three different Ice phase rotations is very small (less than 1% dps with my gear at least).

    For tower duty - let the more mobile person activate the tower. That way you only have to move to the edge of it. (Less distance to run =more DPS)
    In my group we have two bards. The one not doing Homing/BrainJack is first priority on Ballistic so mages can mainly just move away and keep casting.

    Dreads - Yes Quelling and rotate Convert and Mana Pots to double Flare. (If doing LB3 on 3rd dread it leaves lots of time for CD's since you shouldn't have to touch 3rd Dread)
