My question is, why does everything have to be a "long term relationship"? Why can't you have your friendships with your free company or linkshell, and use the duty finder as well so you don't have to wait around for someone to be looking for "your" job?

I'm going to go out on a limb here and guess that you never played XI. Everything there was exclusively party based, and what started to happen was the strong jobs were coveted, and the jobs who were maybe better at things in a different way or just better at different things than pew pew were ignored. Beastmasters and puppetmasters come to immediate mind, Black Mages as well were shunned from meripos because everyone and their brother wanted colibri - if you were a bard, rdm, drg, sam, or war though... you were golden. I already see the same thing happening here to some extent - PF brayflox nonstop speedruns were always a pld, whm, and two blm. That's what I see the PF being used for - not for building fair parties that let people get to know their "community".

I don't think that there needs to be any reward for excluding jobs from your group. The reward is that you already get to play the way you want to with the people you believe are the best suited for your task. We don't need to throw myth or soldiery bonuses at you to boot.
