    Please Incentivize Using Party Finder Over Cross-Server Duty Finder

    Because there is no way to establish relations with people across servers, using Duty Finder exclusively doesn't facilitate meeting people in ways that create positive long term relationships in game. That in turn builds a social barrier preventing a lot of people from tackling 2nd Coil of Bahamut because raiding with strangers is stress inducing instead of fun.

    Perhaps giving people allied seals for completing dungeons with a set group from their own server would help push things more in the right direction.

    Allied seals or some other bonus (maybe challenge log?) would be kind of cool. But, even on a single server, there are thousands of people... you can't know everyone. ^^;

    Just the other day I joined a PF for Garuda Ex we went in and died with some of the rocks gone a minute after the sister phase started the first time they showed I dced. I know that's not very good of me to do but everyone in there was between ilvl 95 -110. I've joined DF that's lasted longer and now days I would rather cue for DF only because you generally know what you're going to get.

    i think this would be a good idea for when people need to practice for endgame. on NA/EU servers, it seems like the only PF that is succesful is for clear parties, with experience, and DF is for practice. thats bad because no one on DF wants to deal with the person whos only watched a video and never been in the fight. i will acknowledge that what i just said is completely the players fault, and SE is in no way responsible for that, but if it were possible to get even a small reward just for using PF, not even for a clear, like a random crafting mat drop. as people would abuse the not clearing part, make it to where the drop is only possible after x amount of time in instance.

    It technically is the player's fault, but on the same note MMORPGs are social engineering experiments, so it is part of the responsibility of the creator as well. The reason I think my idea is helpful is because different kinds of people tend to come on at different times. Spend enough time doing party finder, and you'll start noticing certain people tend to show up regularly when you do. Those individuals also notice you in turn and this creates an opportunity for constructive relationships to be formed.

    i was referring to the fact that players on Na/EU servers use PF successfully for experienced, clear parties, and DF for pracrice. SE is not responsible for how we use these things that they have provided. i would honestly like to see practice parties in PF. last night, i ran garuda ex with almost a completely new party from my fc, only 2 people had cleared it before, and we got to the second set of adds, suparna had 6% health, and that was on our last run.

    i would join whatever practice party i could just to provide some tips and help to new people who wanted to learn.

    My question is, why does everything have to be a "long term relationship"? Why can't you have your friendships with your free company or linkshell, and use the duty finder as well so you don't have to wait around for someone to be looking for "your" job?

    I'm going to go out on a limb here and guess that you never played XI. Everything there was exclusively party based, and what started to happen was the strong jobs were coveted, and the jobs who were maybe better at things in a different way or just better at different things than pew pew were ignored. Beastmasters and puppetmasters come to immediate mind, Black Mages as well were shunned from meripos because everyone and their brother wanted colibri - if you were a bard, rdm, drg, sam, or war though... you were golden. I already see the same thing happening here to some extent - PF brayflox nonstop speedruns were always a pld, whm, and two blm. That's what I see the PF being used for - not for building fair parties that let people get to know their "community".

    I don't think that there needs to be any reward for excluding jobs from your group. The reward is that you already get to play the way you want to with the people you believe are the best suited for your task. We don't need to throw myth or soldiery bonuses at you to boot.

    Half of the party finder on my server is greyed out and the other half is hunts. This doesn't help me, therefore I'm against it.

    Heh, I havent actually even used party finder yet. The cross-server features we have today came to be because the same-server ones took forever! Much as id prefer to stick with my own server I never bothered with it really, just assuming it wont be very different from before.

    Maybe ill try it while leveling PLD.

    I agree with OP.

    Incentive for playing with people on the same server is needed because most people are too lazy to do Party Finder. We need to strengthen our servers communities. As it is now, it feels like I'm playing with a bunch of anonymous people I'll never see again.
    Duty Finder with random strangers should be a last resort option.
