The Hunt - Calling out false coordinates?

So in Outer La Noscea this morning I discovered that a mischievous player was reporting false coordinates in order to generally vent his frustrations with the Hunt. As it turns out, this player had heard about a hunt at lv37 and wanted to be invited to a party, full knowing that he could in no way get credit for a hunt on his own. Upon being rejected from any party invitations, he felt that he had been wronged because it's "possible" for a low level to get seals from a Hunt.

While I personally don't think it's right to expect everyone else to carry you just because you want to try and get seals well before you have any real need of them, and can't contribute at all towards getting them, I wonder if other people feel differently. Though his reaction doesn't help his chances in the Hunt.

So he found a hunt and was willing to tell people where it was and all he wanted in return was to be included in the fight and you're saying he's wrong? Whether he could do a point of damage or get anything is irrelevant, the generally human thing to do would be to invite him into the PT and let him have fun. Unfortunately this speaks volumes of the so-called "community" that exists in a game designed around spoiled brats.

I dont know if shouting fake hunt coordinates is against the TOS or not but more power to him. Revenge is a dish best served cold. The "community" has earned it. Too bad there are no consequences for being scum in this game.

The OP said nothing about the person in question finding the hunt himself when at lv 37. She said that this person HEARD about the elite mark. He probably heard it in shout or something if that is the case.

You misread, he heard about the hunt while his level was 37 (probably highest level he has). He wouldn't get credit even if he tried to do it, so people wouldn't invite him into a party knowing it'd be impossible for him to get the rewards and hurt their chances of getting rewards. He started giving out fake coordinates in response to that, not realizing this is reflecting badly on him, and that it's not that they wouldn't invite him, it's that inviting him wouldn't have made a single bit of a difference, he wouldn't get anything due to the level gap.

A guy was calling the coordinates that could be at the top or bottom of a crevasse in Coerthas. He then shouted, "Keep jumping, fools." I hope that's at least worth a short term ejection. Anyway, regardless of this guy's feelings, it's up to the parties to decide who stays or who goes. Last night, a few of us dragged my son around to some B rank hunts and one S rank. He was only level 12, but who cares, with everyone else doing damage, we got full credit anyway. This isn't coil, it's OK to help an newcomer get some tomes on the way up. I had a free company who did that for me, and we do it for our members.

All that said, it's up to the parties, so the guy referred to in the OP is either childish or a thin-skinned, dejected douche bag. Find some FC members or just friends and put in your hits if you want some credit. This isn't kindergarten, you don't get invited to every party, and you don't get a trophy for attending.

I have fought an A mob together with a Level 38 PLD from my FC. He wasn't even visible on the Hatelist and died from the 1st AOE the enemy made lol but he still got the full reward. You surely do not need 8 Level 50 players to make everybody in the party getting full credit. So I don't mind if a player below Level 50 joins.

It's great that you do not need to be level 50 to get credit and rewards - but why not give lower level Duty Finder dungeons a reward of 10-15 Allied Seals too? This way when you reach level 50, you could potentially have 300-500 allied seals already. Enough to give you a full set of level 90 gears, and new players are not pressured to join the madness that is The HUNT... After all, it was designed to help new players to catch up - gear wise. Might as well start rewarding them from the beginning.
