When is an i100 item better than an i110? - I.E. ST Hands

So been playing around with this handy dandy tool, and it shows BIS to be ST Hands

My FC mates assure me that's not correct, since VIT > all else... but at a certain point, aren't gains in parry > vit? There has to be a number, even if just someones theory, on the weight of Parry vs. Vitality, and Defense.

for me VIT always more than parry. they both def stat.
you also correct that at some point VIT start to lose it value as def stat, (when you over gear content) that when you start swapping VIT for some Offensive 2ndary stat.(DET or CRIT)

giving choice between VIT or Parry, I would go VIT every day as Parry is random and worthless against magic damage.

So far I have never saw ppl sac VIT for parry, but I saw a lot of WAR going DET / CRIT over VIT once they getting close to ilv110 ^^'.

I don't think you can really compare the two (VIT and Parry) in such a manner, one gives you protection against burst damage and the other decreases the level of damage you take over an extended period of time. The math revolving around Parry rating tends to show that it's rate of gain is very small as well, when you couple that with the fact that you can only parry physical damage it makes it look even less desirable to pursue. Imo, go for the highest iLvl items available unless you're accuracy starved and/or have access to i90 crafted accessories [in the case of tanking].

Even if the parry was worth considering (it isn't), you lose STR (damage) by downgrading from i110 to i100.

VIT is superfluous beyond a point and Parry is arguably a pointless stat. Random mitigation doesn't really matter when the only situations that matter, healing-wise, are big burst damage where you can't count on it and have to heal like it's not going to proc.

Everyone else pretty much summed it up perfectly, so unless your undergeared and have to downgrade a piece to meet an accuracy requirement (which should be the ONLY situation you ever downgrade for) stick with the highest ilv gear you have.

You should never sacrifice a main stat VIT or STR and certainly not both for a sub stat ie parry. Ever.

With how easy it is to obtain Sands just upgrade the Soldiery gloves and call it a day. The added STR and VIT is a no brainer.

The only ilvl sacrifices that make sense, for tanks, are i90 crafted accessories and Phlegethon's Cuirass.

The only time you should ever consider a lower ilvl item is if you have melded HQ crafted accessories or you need accuracy. Weapons, armor and shields always max out STR and VIT for their ilvl, which are significantly more important than any secondary stat. For jewelry, swapping out a slightly lower leveled STR piece for one of your VIT pieces might make sense to increase your damage and damage mitigation over time when you don't need a ton of HP to survive.

Why would a tank want a chest with skill speed and determination when the Noct Lorica has Accuracy & Parry (plain better) and more VIT/STR/DEF/MDEF?
