    Spice leves up a little: rare NM spawns

    OK, what are leves? Boring, repetitive and unrewarding. So why not kill three "pigs" with one stone? A random, small chance for a more challenging notorious monster to spawn during leves would help with all three problems. An unexpected and tougher fight once in a while keeps us on our toes. If the NMs are random you never know which you're going to get, so it mixes things up a little. And last but not least, there would be more incentive for doing leves in terms of rewards.

    NM hunting and grinding wouldn't have to be segregated pieces of the game anymore.
    Of course, I'm not talking end game gear and Batraal level of difficulty here, just level appropriate NMs which all fight a little differently - your Leaping Lizzy, Aquarius, Mee Deggi type of monsters. Just a passing thought

    As long as they don't actually prevent people from completing their leves, I shall support this.

    Agreed, Adol! Maybe a message at the end of a leve or during : "You sense a strong presence north of here..." and make the circle on your map glow red so you can choose to avoid or engage it.

    Oh yes, something like that would be pretty damn good. Just like Monster Hunter Portable 3rd's optional bosses during hunts.

    I like the thought of this. It wouldn't have to be restricted to a specific leve but more of an odd chance of spawning for the region.

    Tie certain NMs to particular regions and people would have yet another reason to go to certain areas besides Ul'dah again.

    I was thinking along the same lines (I think)... Basically, have them randomly spawn as an extra bonus objective. Perhaps at the end of the encounter... or maybe part way through. Leave it up to the player to decide if they have the time, or if it's worth the extra effort, etc.

    I will definitely agree with the OP, though. The standard leves we have now *seriously* could use some work. Take a page from Assault in XI. Those had some (mostly) fun objectives to meet and actually required some strategy to complete successfully. Ones like "Excavation Duty" weren't that great, as it was basically just destroying boulders and so it was all about having enough DD. However, others definitely required players to use their heads, devise and execute strategies to complete them. Assault falls perfectly in line with Leves as they, too, had time limits of 30 minutes or more, etc.

    I was chatting with a LS-mate earlier in-game while we were out xp'ing on regular world mobs, about how I would be perfectly content if leves were removed altogether (in their current form), they're so uninteresting to me. Of course, I would prefer they *improved* them instead, adding more variety, more types of goals... and for the love of Ralgr... cut back on the whole "oh the last mob is fleeing!" routine. In their current form, with how banal, repetitive and uninteresting they are (to me), I'd be a perfectly happy camper to avoid them altogether... if not for the guild points they award.

    So yeah.. I'm behind this OP topic 100% in terms of adding rare spawns, etc.. And in terms of taking the concept of leves even farther by adding new mission types, new objectives, different strategies, etc... The basic setup of Leves really opens them to so many different possibilities.

    I can not begin to tell you how much I despise the fleeing mob routine. I'd prefer if they just "called for help" to spawn the last bit of mobs and stayed put.

    It's like Nyzul Isle, i like this idea. but thoses NM must also be in the real eorza world (the game is lacking some competition), so we can try a second chance on guildleves.
