I'm not that great at moving and attacking at the same time. Do Bards have to do this much in endgame PvE? Or, is it more move to position, attack, move to position, attack?
Thanks!

as a BRD you're expected to constantly be shooting stuff while moving at endgame.
I sympathize Victros. Playing with controller I was struggling on especially titan because the combination of animation lock and tiny amounts of lag caused landslide to kick me off even though on my screen I was miles out of the AoE so I decided to try bard to avoid the animation lock. The problem I quickly found was that when you are constantly moving and using your left thumb on the analog stick it essentially takes away half your hotbar since pressing a directional key is at best awkward if you can't use your thumb. A big part of the reason I started playing this game was because it supports controller fully but I am starting to realize that unless you extraordinary skills with controller and great finger dexterity it really doesn't work well in battle.
I use a controller and have no issues moving and shooting as bard. Just takes practice I guess.
Bard/Archer , you don't have to move, you can move that is a big difference.
So running from AoEs while shooting is a big advantage ask Black Mages.
But most classes have to run in end game content due to the AoEs
About controller is just personal preference and setting the skills in a efficient position for your style of play.
Movement + attacking with a controller is more to do with the layout of your bars rather than any extraordinary finger dexterity. All my attack skills are on face buttons instead of the D-pad for that very reason.
As someone who played through the story as an ARC/BRD, I would recommend that you consistently practice moving a shooting on small time mobs. The trick is to put your rotation on the buttons while putting any buffs or situational abilities on the d-pad and then being able to memorize their locations so that you can focus completely on the boss' tells. Also keep in mind that there is a sort of "blind spot" for the archer, which can make abilities fail if your target is not in view of the camera. Being able to pull a melee type enemy and then literally kite them indefinitely is the strongest tool at a Bard's disposal.
In fact, just the other day, a group of mine was trying to 3-man the first boss in the Temple of Qarn and the tank disconnected and promptly died. We were able to 2-man the boss due to my ability to damage the boss and run in circles at the same time while undooming myself. While this ability shines in early dungeons, it should be much easier to remain alert in end-game ones.
OK, thanks for the info! I think Black Mage might be more my speed, LOL. Also, I play on PC with a keyboard and mouse. Do you think it would be easier to move and attack with a controller??
It's just down to personal preference. If you are better/more comfortable on mouse+kb then you should use that.
