    FFXIV client crashes on teleports -

    I've been struggling with this issue for a while.

    Client crashes on teleports. GPU updated. Windows updated. MBoard updated.

    I get this event 1000 in event viewer.

    scouring the internets, I found event ID 1000 being associated with network activity. Pointing towards DNS server stuff.

    I spoke to SE today and the tech thought it was a networking issue as well saying that ports often change when patches are released. So port forwarding may help.

    Here are the ranges he gave me:

    54992-54994
    55006-55007
    55021-55040

    He also was VERY insistent on unpluging the router from the wall for 20 minutes to reset it.

    Things to note:

    anytime you are not able to see npcs, spells, or other character that it may be due to port forwarding.

    by the way he spoke, it seems that FFXIV is more stable on windows 7 instead of windows 8

    go to portfoward.com to learn about how to forward ports, if your ISP will not help you.

    good luck to anyone having this annoying issue.

    This problems also happens to me with PS3 - I am playing on PS3 slim 2013 edition.
