    Scrap the marketplace system please

    The single biggest quality of life improvement you can make to this game is fixing the marketplace system. It's just terrible. I spend more time adjusting prices (because the second you list something, you're immediately undercut) than I do enjoying the game.

    It's a tedious, irritating process that is easily remedied by returning to the excellent system Final Fantasy XI used. I don't know why this hasn't been addressed sooner, I can't be the only person who finds it infuriating?

    (Edit. I now realise this is about the 100th thread on the same subject, so apologies for that, but the point is still valid).

    I think in FFXI, all your same value item would be sold to NPC... ^^;

    The marketplace isn't the issue, your community is. I suggest you either leave the price alone, sell in more lucrative amounts, or find something that has more demand than supply. It's YOUR choice to lower the price, and it doesn't amount to a broken system that you choose to lower it a million times in hopes that it will sell before the person that wants to uncut you lowers their prices.

    All they have to do is make the current prices invisible and problem solved.

    But doesn't that just create another problem, I mean how could you buy something if you can't see the prices?

    Well in the FFXI system you spent a ridiculous amount of time tediously guessing at the list price. The system worked by having the buyer offer X amount of gil until they were at or over the list price of any of the available items. Whichever seller had the item listed lowest got the sale, regardless of what the buyer paid. In this system you could list for 1 gil to be assured that you item sold first and just hope that a buyer didn't try to buy it for lower than the going price, let alone the 1 gil you offered it for. The price history showed what people paid, not what people listed. Also there were listing fees and items expired after a week, so if you listed something very expensive and it didn't sell you'd be out a decent chunk of gil for nothing.

    I liked this about the FFXI 'Auction House', you actually bid on it, usually referencing the Sale history, but sometimes a seller could have just tossed something up for 1 gil and you could get lucky lol.

    nah, this would be terrible.

    the only change needed as said earlier, is allow players to buy units from a stack.

    No, people will charge millions of gil for an easily obtainable item because they are greedy. Like the Fat Cat, 6.5 million gil on Tonberry >.>.

    Seriously?

    The issue is that you are constantly "adjusting" your prices, meaning you are just as much part of the problem as anything. Complaining about others doing something you camp the market board to do yourself is really silly. Think.
