Hey there! So as someone who has been struggling to get Atma stones for months now, I was wondering if there could be a feature that allows a player to know if they have the right conditions met to earn Atma or Alexandrite from FATEs.
Yea? Nay?

I can see how it would be handy for some, but I think it would be a waste of manpower to make this feature.
The conditions needed to get an Atma or Alexandrite are simple; be at the right point in the quest and have the right weapon equipped. I don't think the game needs to be involved in making sure a player is meeting those conditions.
A true paladin... will sheathe his sword.
A forced rng would be much better.
For example: atma's drop at 1% for the first fate you do in a zone. Every other fate done in a zone w/o leaving it will increase the drop rate by one. So by fate 50 you now have a 50% chance to get it. This will continue till you have 100% drop rate. One you recieve a drop it resets back to 1%. This can also be done for mounts but it will have to chqnge from a loot drop to an inventory drop and once obtained will lock you out of gaining duplicates.
I mean, ideally, I would want something where I can know my chances going into a FATE. That'd be awesome. But looking at it from a "feature working as intended" standpoint, I just want to make absolutely certain that I am in no way bugged from getting atmas for any reason. I just want to make sure that I am properly flagged to recieve Atmas when I have my Bravura Zenith equipped. I know there have been some folks who have run into similar bugs.
Atma phase of the Relic Weapon quest is just so painfully tedious without any indication how much more work one would have to put in. It's like being locked in a pitch black hallway. You can go on and on forever, but there's a kind of comfort that could be gotten if we only knew how much more we would have to walk.
Or you know... They could make it that you get Atma Fragments per each fate. 15-20 fates guarantees you an Atma.
The reason ATMA farming exists is so ATMA isn't dead content. Giving someone an ATMA after 20 fates when Square Enix's RNG could do it after 2000 isn't a good idea to them.
I know people disagree as I also believe it's a cheap way of making fates not dead content.
A better way to make FATEs not dead content would be to make them more interesting. Right now, a player looking for Atma stones cannot get them unless they have a Zenith weapon equipped. That essentially means that players cannot level up other classes while working for them. A good way to counteract this is to just have it so completing that quest allows the atma drops without any other conditions required.
Another way to improve FATEs would be to have more items that only drop from specific FATEs, like the minions from "It's Not Lupus" or something, but give those drops a low percentage of dropping so it's not guaranteed even with gold.
Maybe, instead of trying to shoehorn progression into what is percieved to be dead content, revitalize the content by dropping a unique form of currency that can be redeemed for unique pieces of FATE-inspired armor, allowing for even low level characters to earn it and get some low level gear, like maybe, say... weapons fashioned from the stinger of the Prince of Pestilence or something like that. It'd give low level adventurers some very impressive gear upgrades while simultaneously allowing endgame players to have some very nice glamour pieces.
Not to be rude, but its designed this way. Atma farming, dynamis, nzule isle was a grind. Its designed for end-game grining. If players could clear things like this in 1 month it would leave players dropping subs. Prime example is SWTOR.
Where its not required to "have" these weapons its designed to make you work for them. Making it possible to obtain the item while on another job/class is pointless. You may say well I can level another class while doing this for X class takes away from extented playtime and content. FFXI did something like this when FC parties where formed. It did not add time to the game it lowered time to the game.
There is a bit of a problem with that, though.
Look at Animus and Novus. That's time consuming, but it also has a zero-reliance on RNG to complete. You can basically tell about how long it will take to complete.
With Atma, you have no idea. Either you're lucky and you get them all in the first week or so, or you're like me and only have five or fewer atma stones, and it's been a few months since you've seen a single one drop.
It has nothing to do with how long it takes. It has everything to do with how Atma drops are completely based on luck. I'm willing to put in all of the effort it takes to get my atma. I just need to be able to see that my work is going towards progression, no matter how small the progression gain that happens to be.
I'm liking your suggestions because that pain of still trying to get the frikkin atma is a trial and sucks.
ANY help would be good
(also allow the atma to stack and be put into key items)(also, mark off which atma are already won on the journal entry)
