Let's talk about Hunts - a detailed rundown of their assumed mechanics

This thread has increased the hunt activity on my server last night to the point that after going to 3-4 mobs my game gave up (memory leak) and crashed. (´・ω・`)

Hunts are killing this game... and have killed the game for me, its stressfull and demanding for my PC and internet (the zerg) issue

DF/ PF are dead, i tried to do some roulettes this morning, as healer, and no dps or tanks to do it

Also ppl are expecting for u to cooperate with the whole server, even for B ranks.... then the mob disapear and u get nothing... its just sad

I HATE zergs, hate it since L2 and older games, make ppl more stupid than usual.... ppl who wants to force u to play as they do or blacklist u/ insult u

Hunts should be like level quest for party and have limit.

I don't know what it's like on your server, but on mine the PF is filled with 5-6 HUNT grps.

and occasionally you'll see a PF looking to fill 1 or 2 spots for a 2nd coil grp.

maybe very rarely you'll see a Ramuh party pop up.

No more regular primal groups
no regular coil (1st or 2nd) groups
no expert dungeon grps
no crystal toer groups.

DF has most definitely been affected by Hunts taking center stage. You can expect to sit in queue for longer periods as a healer or tank, and many times longer as a DPS than before hunts were introduced.


So, post some screen shots of your servers party finder list and how diversified their activities are, and post some screen shots of your queue times then come call us liars again...

Regular coil was dying out before hunts. It drops ilvl 90 gear and people have been outgearing that with tomes for a while now. I personally haven't been doing duty roulette because I don't need tomes period anymore. That said looking at party finder right now I see 13 groups, 6 for 2nd coil, 1 for t5, 1 for ramuh, 1 for levi, and the rest are random other things/people looking for statics. Party finder is definitely not dead.

I can't a screen right now since my sub expired a couple of days ago and I'll renew once 2.35 hits, but have this screen I took some days ago:



We have:

1) Static recruitment post
2) Alex map party
3) Titan Exe
4) 1 PLD looking for T7 or T8
5) Dzamel exp
6) Hunt
7) T7
8) Training for something
9) I have no idea, probably another recruitment for static. Definitely not hunts
10) Hunt

Seem pretty varied to me, uh? Of course depending on the time of the day things change. I noticed to my surprise people still farming Garuda Exe and coil days usually have 3-4 T6-7 parties at once. I managed to complete both T6 and T7 each week I played without problems. Ramuh usually has 1 pt at once and people still farming Levi to my surprise. OF COURSE you really can't expect people to farm exe forever. Garuda is fucking ilevel 90 and even Ramuh suffers from being iLevel100 when people are all full soldiery already. Content in FFXIV gets old after 3 months, you know that, I know that, the developers know that.

Hunts party only fill the PF at night, but that's because Ragna is mostly a GMT server, before hunts PF used to be pretty dead at night.

I'm willing to give you the benefit of doubt that you'll server is different, but I find hard to believe it's THAT different. Here's another screen I took btw.

Actually that does not prove anything. Lol the average wait time on my server sometimes is 5 minutes and I stay 90 waiting. Also the party finder list, average wait time to fill a full party is one hour sometimes more. At least on my end. Don't know about other servers. And not calling you a liar also. Also I've noted since today a break on the hunts, but cannot explain why. This morning for example all the hunts LS are dead. No says on the chat about hunts, nothing. Only around lunch a few started appearing. Guess people are getting bored I hope. Oh and btw , been trying to go best ultima hm for 2 weeks and not a single hit on the DF. Not even a DPs!

Oh my, why do people don't want to do this hard fight that only drops iLevel80 items, I wonder!

Ultima being dead has been a problem waaay before hunts.
