Let's talk about Hunts - a detailed rundown of their assumed mechanics

I've just seen this happen on Faerie. It was a Chirp, and it was instant. Would love to see others try this out, and I'll do so when another window opens.

This happened on Goblin as well yesterday.

Bird of Paradise:

I reviewed the past few comments about a 'Chirp', and tried this on Mateus, once i got the b rank below 10%, he used a 'Chirp' and 'Bird of Paradise' spawned infront of me.

I wish i would of recorded this, would of been some evidence!

Lol that would be hiarious if it works consistently. At least we can probably confirm it is health related (at the very least) XD

edit: or not, based on neko's post XD lol guess I'll be doing this experiment in 3 days. XD

Adamantoise server - tested out Squonk theory, Bird of Paradise spawned shortly after it chirped a few times - not in the same spot as Squonk, but in the far south-east island of the map - it definitely was not there before this theory was applied.

Edit: Further notes-

Weather was fair.
Squonk was not taken down to 10% (he was barely damaged - I just whacked him with one aggro combo and stood there while my Chocobro healed me, he chirped anyway).
Bird of Paradise was missing as per Ariyala's hunt tracker when we attempted to spawn it.

About the Bird of Paradise:
Squonk isn't the only mob there that can "Chirp". Anyone tried it with his folks of the Paissa? You can gather many of them so you can get more "Chirp" attacks. Would it be worth a try or not?

Tried this suggestion, let squonk chirp away while chocobo healed me, and a few seconds later Bird of Paradise showed up.

98% health Squonk, fair skies (2 mins after fog ended) let him use his "Chirp" aoe a few times and then bird popped like a charm. Little over 107 hours.

Popped 22:58 pm pacific.

Seems worth seeing if Paissa in general will pop him (or that fate boss)

regarding Leucrotta :

Tonight with a friend we spent some time killing mobs. We started with Chimeras and Hydra (30 chimeras, 30 hydras) then my friend came to help me for the hydras. Killed 60 of them, there was nothing around, so she came back to kill the Chimeras ; when she was done with the 50 of them, there was still nothing. Then we killed a bit more than 50 Vouivres, and Leucrotta was there. I can't tell for sure if the Vouivres we killed spawned it, if it's the chain, or if it's the amount of mobs killed. But it spawned.

Senmurv : We confirmed its spawn after 5 FATEs several times now on Moogle.

Bird of Paradise : If it doesn't spawn while I'm asleep I assume it should spawn tomorrow. We spent a full afternoon trying to spawn him with a Squonk vs Eos (endless fight) but nothing showed up. Gonna try again tomorrow.
edit: grrr and of course, it spawns when all of the spawners are alseep, so we still can get a stupid confirmation for the trigger, and couldn't even try with the paissa. *tableflip*

/comfort For what it's worth the guy I work with for spawning S's tried to pop bird of paradise for like 1 hour doing various things (like holding squonk at 1%) then another S popped so we killed that. He went afk (apparently to shower) so I decided to try popping it. Pulled squonk, let eos take aggro and heal herself. After about the second or third aoe/chirp Bird spawned. It was less than 10 mins after he'd given up lol.

Meanwhile I'm on like the 7th cerf's up (mostly because I started before Ariyala listed it as missing - nearly 113 hours open and counting XD - I started over 6 hours ago when it was around 105 hours open) right after KB died.

i see the new s ranks haven't been written yet with spawn conditions, im assuming you know what they are by ow given the maps of their spawn locations,

we have several hunt groups who spawn them and know for certain 3 of their conditions,

kaiser behemoth: requires the behemoth heir minion ( like nandi condition) run around the spawn locations with the minion out

leucrotta: requires 50 kills of at least 3 types of dragon mobs in the delta section ( if you have the challenge log you can keep count with the chocobo challenge for 100 kills)

senmurv: requires the fate <cerfs up> just outside anyx trine, in which needs to be done 5 times which spawn at 1 hour interventions (can be a pain)

as for the rest all i know is

gandarewa requires mining of something

pale rider involves maps - not sure which ones

bird of paradise involves killing...what are the odds - also on your map for bird of paradise you have missed a spawn location (35x,38Y)
