Let's talk about Hunts - a detailed rundown of their assumed mechanics

The first part is among common knowledge I think, and I'm more interested in the myth of "Killing B ranks to make way for S rank in the same spot" though.

Sorta, kill the B ranks until they're in the worst spot so it blocks an A or S from spawning there. Leave the syrup up in Westwind or helmet on isle of Umbra.

That was the very rare situation, I wish it could happen again.

I can now confirm that Diakka are definitely involved in spawning Udumbara, as I got it to show up in a completely deserted zone by killing maybe 10 of those after 50 Leshy turned up nothing.

Soo, those wild stories about people standing in front of an A rank and it randomly disappearing and nowhere to be found? Finally happened to me.

Was flying around looking for Stench Blossom, saw it, was flying towards it and... it was gone, spent 5 mins double checking and couldn't find it, checked the rest of the map and it wasn't anywhere else, it just vanished. I wonder if it's a bug, because I've seen SB A ranks up for an entire 24 hours without them despawning.

Did try today for Udumbara at around 116h. Killed 80+ Leshy, 50+ Saprias and 50+ Diakkas. No spawn and left Zone. Came back after like 20mins to try another round of Leshy (12), did the Diakka Fate (15+) and finished off with some Diakkas in the Dimworld. Got a spawn after killing 5-7 additional Diakkas.

So based on the screenshots, it is possible to fulfill an S rank condition and have it spawn on top of an A/B? that's kind of good to know.

No those are just screenshots of hunts that have 2 seperate spawn points that happen to be next to each other

You should look under your bed, tentacles can hide easily. Just for your own safety.

Gross. We did a slightly more organized Okina #3 attempt this morning.
Started at 12 EZ hours before expected Okina spawn. We were at like 8 room kills in the south rooms at expected spawn time

SE - 3/3 - 10 clears - started on 11th, 30 naked 30 shelled
SW - 3/2 - 10 clears - started on 11th, 30 naked 20 shelled
NW - 2/3 - 2 clears - 4 naked 6 shelled

We killed like an extra 1 or 2 naked in then S popped

So the number might indeed be 100

Thank god removing most instances. Of course it was nice for S Ranks, but it killed almost every SB A Hunt on Shiva. Barely enough people showing up on prime time even at the weekend.
