Your thoughts on the direction of this game?

Im posting this because after almost a year of my TIME im finally fed up with what they have done to this game. Its a Time sink. Plain and simple and not even an enjoyable one at that. The community is very entitled, and youtube has ruined the game in itself, I canceled my sub today and I am very saddened to have to have done so. Hunts are an just terrible. It now takes 20 mins to que up for a hard mode. Materia is through the roof in pricing almost 400k for 1........ I need 75...... I cant believe they made it so easy to obtain 110 gear. Now to get anything in this game at this point is to hurry and run to a zone for a hunt or sit around crafting to break things down for materia.... Neither are fun!!! This is all my opinion so say what you like that's why I am taking the time to post this.

I love collecting glamours though and messing around with my friends but if I didn't have all of my in game friends I wouldn't keep playing I guess

You're not alone, like it feels the devs only method to rewarding players is with just more gear. The game is just nearly one year old and it already feels like it has the mudflation that took Warcraft I think 5 years to achieve?

Yeah, things aren't doing so good. Its hard to get a run for Labyrinth of Ancients anymore, so those vanity sets are going to be hard to complete. Also, I've seen them plain out delete threads that try drawing comparisons to the success and failures of other games with statistical data. Someone brought out the chart for WoW subscription numbers and asked a legitimate question of how the overall success and failure of arguably one of the biggest influences on MMORPGs might effect the content in FFXIV. The thread was deleted, which generally makes it look like they are trying to remove any criticism of substance from the boards.

Yoshida: For a lot of players who are just starting with the new FFXIV, they're going to be more interested in the current state of the game than comparisons to the old FFXIV. There's been a trend with a lot of threads comparing the game to old FFXIV, so we're looking at changing up the way the forum is setup so that these new players don't get discouraged.

I feel like we are just wasting our time posting anymore. Countless threads have been posted on many heated topics that the devs simply delete or throw to the junk box. Fizz, be prepared for trolls sending messages on this post saying things like "You won't be missed" or "/bye". I have been keeping track on the progress of this games decline since I unsubbed 3 months ago with hopes they will bring it back around but to no avail. SE rather appease the elitist crowd who they are breeding into this game with time consumption content that requires zero skill but spamming one ability or spell over and over again or tagging a mob once then letting the other people kill it. I won't even mention Atma again, or the stupid mirror grind people had to endure, or the mindless crafting system which all these are based solely on RNG not effort. FF14 will slowly fade sadly, with WoW's new expansion announcing in mere days, and numerous other P2P or F2P MMO's coming out or already taking ideas from FF14.....this games days will soon be numbered!

You do realize the DIrector/Producer of XIV ARR stated as clear as day WoW is what this game is following design wise..right?

Exactly and most comparisons to WoW are to the golden age of BC/vanilla not the crap that is being introduced today.
