But it's not to late to fix other content, like increasing the daily hunt reward to at least 50 seals a day or removing the lockout in ST for gears/oils since it's lv100 un-upgradeable and if you are gonna give infinite sands/oils from hunts, then you can give infinite oils from ST.
You can avoid the "exploit early" thing by reacting quickly when bad/unintended trends are forming. Secondly, placing the type of rewards in hunts despite being a side activity was the crucial mistake. Forcing a raise in ilevel to undo the damage may not pan out as we would hope for, either.

I'd seriously remove the ledgers, replace them with titles and vanity pets and add more gear. Maybe even add a small exp boost to encourage people to do those within their level bracket.

As far as ST, the problem with oils in ST is that to those that do hunts it's not worth sitting through 4 boss kills just to have a chance of seeing an oil drop. I'd probably give all bosses a chance to drop oil, feeding into gambler's fallacy a bit since even if an oil doesn't drop after killing Scylla, people would be enticed to stay for the other three bosses because they would also have a chance to drop oils. Throwing in sands would also help in that regard. This is, of course, on top of making oils and sands purchasable with soldiery tomestones (or maybe making the bloodied ledgers purchaseable with soldiery tomestones).

    * The sad thing is that FFXIV turned RDM into a turret, and people think that's what it's supposed to be. It's supposed to combine sword and magic into something more, not spend the bulk of gameplay spamming spells and jump into melee for only 3 GCDs before scurrying back to the back line like good little casters.
    * Design ideas:

If you like dungeons, do dungeons. If you don't like dungeons, don't. I mean, you are the one who said myth shouldn't drop from hunts, right? So myth dropping from hunts shouldn't be a big deal for you. You clearly don't want them. You would prefer to go back to SR brayflox over and over.
For your information, I've never once did a speed run brayflox. When I built my Animus I did roulette through the week, got my coil clears and bought 1 or 2 books each week and slowly built my animus. Clearly I'm not a "I NEED IT NOW!" type of gamer. Which apparently you are.

I'm asking SE to bring hunts in line with the rewards from the rest of the game. You can clear a coil turn which is supposed to be some of the hardest content in the game and still get rewarded less than killing a single A rank hunt.

Being competitive isn't calling out a mark then wait for 100+ people show up.
Do you know what happens if hunts were truly competitive? Announce only to your party when you find a mark. When they show up pull it. Keep doing that each time you come up on a Hunt Mark. Then see what happens. You'll either be black listed, or groups will truly start being competitive.

And, no, I still don't understand why people are complaining. What exactly is the problem with having 500 sands? How does that hurt or affect anyone when they can't be utilized.
You still failed to provide a reasoning on how this cap affected people who already had near a full set of Soldiery pieces as the patch went live and have even more now.

Second, I WELCOME the myth flood. Farming the myth from books and alex was AWFUL. People were lamenting on this very forum how boring and grindy the progress was. Do people really like doing dungeons over and over for myth? Fine, you can still do it. No one is stopping you.
Whether you think the economy is a facade or not is irrelevant. Every MMO needs an economy and removing the cap on Tomestone is a sure way to damage it.

The fact that you don't understand the implications of such a request speaks volume about your knowledge about the topic at hand.

A lot of people have been sighting the "tome grind," the repetitive speed runs and the bypass of 2nd coil to upgrade gear as why they love hunts so much. They totally disregard the majority of the games content. It shows with 100+ people warping from zone to zone for hours.

The damage has been done, but it's not too late to change and balance it with other content.

It won't mean squat next item level increase. Best to just wait it out I guess.

SE really missed a chance in their little update last week. Hopefully they will be patching in some sort of cap on purchasable items like bloody hunting logs to maybe 3 a week. People can still hunt and get allied seals coming our of their ears, limiting the purchase rewards would take some of the pressure off of the hunt.

Its not broken, people that complain that it is broken are people that doesn't know how to do hunts, so they miss hunts. Learn to use macros and links, and you will get most of the hunts every time. Just because u don't know how to play the game doesn't make it broken. It is now getting to the point that the people that does hunts a lot are done already, and are now just waiting every week to cap soldiary so they can upgrade gear. Believe it or not Hunts is actually made for you casual people that don't like to raid. It actually gives you guys a chance to get 110 gear. People that don't have time to play the game can just log on, cap myth/soldiary in couple hours, instead of doing the same dungeon over and over.

Maybe if they removed the cap on tomestones, more people would have i110 weapons and the materia market for Novus weapons which is stupid right now would settle to a more reasonable level. Unless you think paying 5-10 million gil to finish a Novus is actually a fair price for a weapon which is already going to be made obsolete when patch 2.4 is released!

Here's the reason for the current price. Asking to damage the economy just because some people don't want to pay for the Novus is a ridiculous idea.
