Maybe I am new: is this not cheating in dungeon?

Hi all, I am still quite new to the game so maybe someone could kindly enlighten me...

I was running Sastasha this afternoon as DPS, and our healer (a lv34 conjurer) literally just followed us all the way through doing nothing, stood still during battles without even bothering drawing his weapon. And our Arcanist ended up doing all the healing.

So Arcanist complained and I questioned him twice, no response, continue running with us doing nothing. So before the 2nd boss I said we should kick, but the system wouldn't allow me to initiate vote as in an earlier run I initiated it for a disconnected player and that's less than 4 hours ago.

So we got into 2nd boss fight as tank just ran in and pulled. During the boss fight the conjurer only cured himself when attacked by adds and throw in a couple of stones on boss towards the end. Didn't do any healing at all on other members.

So as we move towards the final boss I said someone else should initiate the vote to dismiss as I cannot (since we are pretty much a 3-man party anyway), then all of a sudden I got dismissed!

I had never been dismissed before so understandably I am quite upset. And I really don't understand what had happened, as I thought the conjurer was cheating. But then I haven't done many dungeons - has this become an acceptable behaviour now and we are supposed to just put up with it? And why did I get dismissed - I didn't use any aggressive language at all. Am I disrupting the run more than the conjurer? Very confused...

It's obvious the ACN was dual boxing the CNJ.

1) The CNJ was being an asshole. As much as it sucks to deal with, being an asshole isn't directly against the rules.

2) It was probably the CNJ who initiated the vote kick on you. In all the games I've played that have a vote kick option, people rarely actually read what it says: the notice pops up and they automatically click yes/accept without thinking. The conversation was about the CNJ so everyone else assumed the notice was for the CNJ. Or maybe they were all buddies, who knows.

As Yonin points out, one of the other players could have possibly been dual-boxing (probably the tank, given that the ACN was the one who initially complained), but it's hard to tell from what little detail you give.

At any rate, no it's not really something you should have to worry about being a common occurrence.

You weren't doing anything wrong what so ever and I'm sorry that you had to experience such annoyance and disrespect. Like the prior comments have stated, the CNJ player initated the vote kick on you, he wasn't cheating but it is likely he was dual-boxing (controlling two+ characters) and using the arcanist or tank as well. These are very rare occurrences, I myself have had the luck of not running into any and I hope you don't encounter a situation like that again.

If the other 2 weren't teamed up with the cnj him initiating a kick wouldn't have gone through. Someone was dualboxing the cnj, not necessarily the acn.

And wasn't there something from SE saying they were eventually going to implement a thing saying who instigated the kick?

If someone was indeed dual-boxing, it's probably not ACN as he was the one who initially complained and he did speak out in support when I questioned the CNJ. Thinking about it... the tank never said a thing during the run, and while we were questioning CNJ, tank just kept running and pulling. Before the 2nd boss ACN and I were standing outside the boss room when I tried to vote kick, and tank literally ran in and pulled boss... so maybe he does know something...

Oh well anyway, I am glad that this is a very rare occasion and I really hope no one else would encounter situation like that. It's rather unpleasant.

Report them. I hope you did. Whenever you get kicked for no Valid Reason. Screenshot the Pt Chat With improtant informations there. Write down the Exact time and your Server, Player Names etc. to make the research easier for SE. SE takes Vote kick abuse serious and those ppl will be punished.

Thanks for the reply! Ah I didn't realise I can report it... was a bit upset and confused when kicked out so didn't do any screenshot etc, so all I can remember is the CNJ's name that's all... Oh well, thanks anyway , just hope this won't happen to anyone else here.

Regardless of names if you know when you were in the dungeon they can check for who you were with and the log involved.

Sounds to me like you and ACN had a valid reason to kick the CNJ for ignoring your suggestions and complaints, and the tank was obviously using game mechanics to evade the kick. Hope it never happens to you again, but definitely report them if it does. If you just have the exact time and location and the character name, the GM should be able to find and investigate the log of that instance. Stinks that some players will demand a carry by dual boxing in dungeons when there's open-world content that they can use to level up alt accounts without wasting other people's time.
