    Bard - Kiting?

So now I'm interested in playing a Bard, because, well, i like to shoot arrows. My question is, do Bards have to kite much in PvE? I historically suck at kiting.

    Thanks!

Some people would ask a bard to kite in turn 7 only if they don't have a SMN or they SMN to lazy or just not that great at doing it. Beside that there no kiting in PVE that the first time we seen this type of game play that i know of.

Kiting is pretty optional and rare in this game. It's often discouraged by mechanics outside of instances since mobs will quickly return to their spawn location if dragged too far away.

You might also need to kite in the (optional) Cutter's Cry dungeon on one boss if the Healer is unable to do so but that's about it.

In T7 bards will kite the Renauds that spawn. As mentioned above, a SMN can do this, however after doing it myself, BRD is more efficient at it. I kite, and then the healers in my static will pop the miasma.
This way, I don't even have to think about binding it, I just go back to DPS.

In T8 bards can kite the homing missiles and do the brainjack pretty well. Not necessary, but if you run out of range with the homing missiles espcially, we can still shoot while kiting.

Only in the specifically-mentioned endgame fights. Usually you do not want to kite because moving around means tanks can't hit it and won't be able to get the enemy off of you. Most of the time the enemy is still able to hit you while you run around anyway. Also melee DPS will hate you.

Kiting is usually a last resort in most scenarios. 1st boss of Wanderers Palace comes to mind. If your tank happened to die, it was possible to kite boss as bard. If he managed to catch up, you could bind him in place.

You can kite the first boss in The Temple of Qarn and 2-man it as long as you have heals that can survive a final sting and both of you are aware enough to avoid Doom.
