Fatigue after coming back from instance and fishing up 2 Lominsan Anchovies

So I was fishing in Limsa Lominsa this morning while queueing for Syrcus Tower on black mage. Fished up around 10 fishes, Meltor Gobies, Lominsan Anchovies, Kelp etc, and duty popped. I changed to BLM, got in, completed the dungeon (damn you rng gods!), popped another queue, changed to fisher, went to cast and OOPS the fishes sense something amiss...
Ok no problem, click aetheryte, change from Lower to Upper Decks, cast line, got 1 Anchovies and duty pops again (I know, very fast today!). Rinse and repeat, come out and change to fisher and dafuq THE FISHES SENSE SOMETHING AMISS...
Back to Fishermans Bottom, fished around 6 this time, some Kelp in between, go back into ST, out again and OMGGGGGGGG are you serious????
What happened here? So popping out of duty gives insta-fatigue? It wasn't after changing jobs, it was coming out of instance D: Anyone else experienced this?

You start fishing = start timer on "Fishes sense something amiss"

You can fish, go in instance, whatever, the timer don't stop.

It's been there since we could fish.

As side note I always felt timers in cities were shorter than in the wild

I always thought fatigue was based on gathered items, not on time, but I stand corrected, tyvm sir!

But isn't that just stupid? I mean, at least interrupt the timer when doing something else, no? 'Cause basicly I won't fish while waiting on duty cause when it pops, I will have to change node anyways D:

    I can't sleep now o_O;

    Does it matter?
You only need to like...spend 5 seconds walking to a new spot.

O no it doesn't matter at all, it's not gonna leave me with sleepless nights over it (I was joking earlier). It's just one of those things that don't make any sense...
And even though we just walk 10 yalms and reset the timer and agree it's not a big of a deal, wouldn't it be nice if they kinda changed it so it made a little more sense (since they changed all sorts of things just to make the game better)? Wouldn't you agree? Or would you sign against it? O_o

I'm against changing it. As it stands, fish botting isn't a thing, as far as I know, because this feature makes it difficult to do it. I don't see a need to make any changes, though others might disagree.

I think it does and it doesn't, actually. As far as I can tell, there are two or three systems, and all give the same "amiss" message.

The first is that timer, and to reset it, you just move a few steps over.

The second is a counter that keeps track of how much you've fished at a hole, regardless of time spent. Fishing exclusively at only one fishing hole for some large amount of catches triggers it, and I've had a fishing alt (whose sole reason for existence was to get me a second map for the day) hit this from just fishing at the same hole every day for like a week. Casting your line just once at any other fishing hole resets this.

The third.. may or may not be just my imagination, and I don't have the time anymore to just fish my day away to try to get it again. But if it's real, then there's another counter that keeps track of how much you fish within a relatively short window. Back in January when I was after Titanic Sawfish to complete my fishing log for the hell of it, I would just sit there for like 400+ casts, nonstop, until I got the message. And I don't remember if fishing there again later in the day fixed it, or if (in hindsight) it was me fishing up my maps elsewhere that fixed it. But there's another guy in my thread from back then who makes me think this third counter does exist, and the reset was just to wait for a few hours.

standing along the shore where you can cast also would trigger the timer too. so I usually move a distance away from where I stand/fish before I hit commence for DF.
