For now the current stand is that relic will always be 2nd best in terms of stats, 2nd or 3rd best when it comes to speed of acquisition for a coil tackling weapon. They have dropped NO hints on otherwise. Believing SE/yoship will do the right thing is a merely pipedream when you look at how they handled other oversights, like hunts.

Exactly. Atma was a useless step. We could have gone straight to animus. Could have even combined it into one by getting the atmas and then changing/exchanging them into books, resulting in 12 books with shorter contents (50 enemies, 2 dungeons, 2 fates, 2 leves).
