Over 240 maps and no blue bird.

I have gotten a Peistskin map every single day since 2.1 for a total of 244 maps not including over 20 maps a fiend gave me and I didn't get a blue bird in any of them, while a friend of mine gets his blue bird the day 2.1 came out and he gets a second one later. I feel like the blue birds drop rate should be increased at this point because it is several months old, I am not willing to pay 2 million gil for a minion /rant off.

So much this. I got lucky and got a bluebird from a peisteskin map with FC runs, and I love collecting minions but that isn't the one I really wanted. I reeeeally wanted the tonberry. I ran boarskins every day for about a month after I got the bluebird and made enough money to just buy the tonberry for like 400k. I'm talking like 2 days later I did a boarskin map and it dropped out of the chest for me ^^


Made my money back at least lol. About a month and a half after that I got the opo-opo drop and another tonberry in the same week. But my RNG on rolls is garbage. Lucky I'm my static's only BRD!

Why assume he bought the maps?
By now it's very possible to have gathered that many peisteskin maps on his own.

I got my own Bluebird only a few weeks ago after having done not only my own maps pretty much every day since 2.1 arrived.

True, but even if you gather the maps yourself it's still a money loss.

Don't know about you, but running Peiste with four players, you should make your money back every round (4 x maps). When you include the chance of an Unhidden, it's definitely positive income, even more so if you take 5 minutes to farm them yourself.

Peiste maps must be really cheap in your server, here they wander around 30k, pretty hard to get your money back unless you get lucky.

But where I'm getting at is, if the income is positive then OP got enough gil from those maps to buy the minion directly, if the income is negative then OP should consider selling the maps instead and buying the minion directly.

I understand the bigger picture and I agree that it's ridiculous to keep vanity gated behind an RNG based grind wall, but for OP's specific case I think it's time to make use of the marketboard, at least this vanity item is tradeable, unlike others.

OP never mentioned buying the maps - they may have farmed a map every day? - That's the feeling I'm getting anyway.
