    leves - working as intended?

Just curious about something as it's something I don't agree with.

I met someone in-game yesterday that has some friends that managed to talk him into joining FF14. He's already at least 35 on his archer (and maybe other classes) in the 2 weeks he's been around.

Found out today that his friends are powerleveling him by him going to an area he's cleared already on a lower level job, accepting the leves and turning them in for the reward.

You can't turn in (or accept in some cases) quests if you're below the level they're for. Why would they allow leves to do that? Maybe it's just me being a stickler for "if I had to do it, so should you!" but I feel that it's not right to be able to do that.

EXP is scaled for lower-level classes regardless. My friend tried this a few days ago in Mor Dhona, the Lv49 leve only gave 9k EXP as opposed to the 16k/19k they would normally give when near the level range. So if he was powerleveling, he's doing it legitimately.

Yeah, 35 in 2 weeks is a joke. No matter which method he is using, it shan't be called "powerleveling".

I got to 50 in 2 weeks of me playing on and off, so I'm sure you can get to 50 in one if you really wanted to. Also, your friends can powerlevel your friend to 50 in a day and it won't mean a thing. If you don't beat main scenario you're practically lv49 until you do as you can do almost nothing end-game wise.

If his friends truly are "powerleveling" him, then they are doing him a misdemeanor by getting his hopes up lol.

I've never done it myself so I wasn't aware that the turn in rewards were scaled down to the level. As that is the case, he's actually LOSING XP because he doesn't get the XP from killing the mobs themselves+the reward.

Thank you for the explaination (and no thank you for the sarcasm).
