It will quickly fall the way XI did. It will maintain a small amount of die hard players with hardly any influx of new accounts. The only difference is XI lasted more than half a decade before it died. XIV will not even come close. We'll all patiently await the next SE MMO when PS5 comes out.

I believe ffxi last so many years because the game was much work for less reward and took so much time for someone to call himself geared.

What we have right now is a solid foundation to build on.

I disagree with foundation part. its build up into tiered system where older have no value to most of players
which is kill the old experience which most of people will miss.
