    I think that this way, anyone is free to use the strategy that he prefers.
    I've done both ways, the total killing and the total running and I found both funny, I don't see why there should be only one way.

    i guess so. like i said i enjoy the opportunity to take multiple approaches or to just go in and farm, which would work very well with your other idea and seems to work in the darkhold now. i would assume there is some endgame or dungeons in the works with more variety such as what you suggest but thx for puttin ideas out there.

    The point of this dungeon is to give parties options.

    You have the clear method (A), which gives you SP.
    You have the loot method (B), which you train to the end and maximize the loot against your time.
    You have the speed method (C), which you HAVE to do in order to get the final chest.

    There is no problem in the way the dungeon is presented and truthfully, only two of these methods require any kind of skill what so ever. Training to the end of the dungeon requires a lot of coordination and it requires the party to be able to communicate effectively, otherwise you will not be able to complete it regardless. So if your party is not skilled enough to complete the dungeon in this manner, then go to "Option A", which is clearly the most suitable way for most parties.

    There is a good 1% of the population that can even do "Option C" and doing that as effectively as possible is hard enough as is. It requires extreme coordination, timely speed in activating Battle Regiments as well as fortitude and focus to enable said Battle Regiments without the rest of the party "stating" that a Battle Regiment is going up as well as having the proper set up to maximize damage. Not only do you have to do this properly, but you have to do it quickly and we all know that a lot of times, you can end up sitting there waiting for others to join you for those things and that wastes time.

    If you honestly think that "zerging" or "speed running" through the dungeon is improper, I would like to see you post a youtube video of your attempts. Can you gather seven other people, lead them and have them follow you to the bitter end regardless of how many times you'll fail? Would you be able to stand on top of the rest and show the world that you have the ability to lead a group of people effectively and complete an objective like finishing this run within 25 minutes?

    If it was as easy as saying, "complete it in 25 minutes", more parties would do it and obviously, that's not the case because only a handful of groups can even finish Ogre. An even smaller number than that can finish Batraal and smaller yet, can finish Batraal in under 25 minutes.

    What went wrong with the dungeon may not necessarily be the way it's designed, have you ever considered that what went wrong with the dungeon may be your inability to get a group together to finish all options?

    Giving incentive without forcing people is good. Initially you wanted people to stop forcing you to use the zerg method but in doing so you were trying to force them to use your preferred method. Incentive is a happy middle ground.

    Trash mobs dropping rares is good. They could also do it like Phantasy Star Universe where at the end of any given mission if you killed all the creatures you got a better rank. Obviously they wouldn't use the same method but the same kind of thing stands, have a chest(s) pop once all monsters in the dungeon have been killed at the end or something like that.

    Lets remove the timer all together, or just keep the timer there to award the extra loot. Shouldn't dungeons be about fighting and possibly killing stuff, not seeing if you can rush through the trash mobs fast enough to actually fight the bosses.

    Make trash much harder, stay away from aoe zergs if possible, make the bosses stomp all over groups that are not prepared. (This is speaking on tot-rak) Haven't ran Darkhold, though I assume or at least hope that it's much more of a challenge.

    You could keep the chests the way they are and award them to people who were able to beat the clock without punishing the people that couldn't. One loot chest would be completely fair to groups that were able to get their heads together and kill the boss, even if not as fast as others may be able to. Who cares if it takes them 4 hours in there to get 1 piece of loot? is it going to break the game?

    If they mean for us to kill the mobs we need timer extensions. Such as 10 mins for mid boss and maybe 10 mins for clearing the quest mob room at the end?

    Just wait til we get materia crafted gear, advanced job classes, better gear drops, changes to the way stats work, etc.. All this will make us BETTER and the dungeon EASIER. No need to nerf the dungeon!
