Retainer Ventures...

Getting a lot of crap from my retainer as well.. mostly seafood (being a miqo'te makes it even more ironic).
I've gotten the Blazing inferno wall lamp as my best loot so far, but everything else sucks - and i mean suck.
It's sad to see that every time i send my retainer on a "quick exploration" she finds WAY better things than any
of the field explorations..

Benn doing 18hr ventures on all 4 retainers since 2.3 and yet to see anything except COuerl and Hiipo fur from DoW retainers. Except the odd moss weap crafting bit. NOthing new, pre 2.3 used to get occasional interesting item. Not so much with the new ranks of ventures.

pretty sure they (SE) use the whole "venture" thing as a way to maintain control over the economy. Anyone else notice how the wave of items received cross board are usually the same for everyone???

not just saying the oh we all get skins and fish but the pattern of who gets what when is usually the same, like the influx of that mossy stone thing.

Returns from ventures are really poor. That said, I think the return is still higher than using your Seals for anything else. I have 2 retainers that can do Field Exploration XIV and 2 that can only do XIIII. Today, the proceeds from the 4 will be ~ 13K for 1600 seals worth of Ventures (only 1 of them brought back nothing but NPC trash which is better than normal). That is better than buying mats, etc.

At best, it helps with the costs of teleporting.

Return, though, is probably really bad considering I had to craft some high level gear to get the attributes needed. For my miner, I needed to craft all HQ miner gear AND meld gathering to it plus earn another Forager's Dolabra in order to get the Gathering stats needed to do FEXIV.

Quick ventures can still bring back primal weapons as far as I know, they patched out the ability to get 3-star crafted items since they were kinda released in the patch that the ventures were.

(Not directed at the quoted poster) The whole point of quick ventures is that you are gambling at getting something valuable. If it paid off all the time it would be stupid.

As far as exploration ventures, my PGL has brought back Mossy Stone weapons very often and my BTN has brought back a Floss Silk which is crazy expensive and used in the Stuffed Goblin.

My Gladiator retainer is geared to the teeth. I get the message that her gear is "helping" to acquire rare items. However, to this day she has never brought back anything other than fish.... and the occasional HQ coeurl meat!!! OMG COEURL MEATS!!! YISS!!

I have been doing nothing but quick and getting much better things like. Red Onion Helm my botanist brought it back.

I get fish and crab mostly and from time to time something else that is just as worthless.
