A Bards point of view.

1. I rarely see people say to never use a song, that's actually the first time I've heard that may even be a thing. (Probably a stigma from other generic MMOs.)

I went into a DF Roulette as Bard. WHM, Melee DPS, Tank.

WHM goes low into MP - Mage's Ballad - He laughed and told me it's useless.

If a WHM manages well his CD and MP - NP.

If he start doing Holy (cause like me, he doens't want to be the healer but he has to cause every other FC mates are not healers) so he start doing Holy-Holy-Holy.

As long as he makes sure no one dies, I'm ok with it.

But: When you begin a dungeon, just tell us how you will proceed. Makes things smoother. Communication is sooo lacking in here, even my mates bought a cheap 10$ keyboard so they can type with their consoles.

Anyway, no matter what you do, keep on doing it until something tells you otherwise, and then judge if what he's asking make sense, or not, then adapt.

Same with the speed boost (it's meant to be used in between fights, so when it shows as available, it's only one click and has nothing to do with speed runs, so I use it.)

At least I play songs ^^

Well, of course, Mage's Ballad isn't useless. But I dislike when a bard plays it for my SCH. I never tell them to stop because it's not a big deal, but they're only wasting time. Basically, SCH should never run out of mana even while DPSing/in SCoB. Get low, yes. Run out, no. I can solo heal most things without ever feeling like I'm "scrapping the bottom of the barrel". Admittedly, I've never solo healed t7, 8 or 9. I've always had my partner for them, but I have solo'd t6.

That is correct, hence why I didn't mention anything pertaining SCH.

I play all Jobs, and then I made choices as per the ones I prefer. So even if I stopped playing and getting gear for all (I'll still finish getting all my zeniths, just need 4500 more myth) But for me I prefer SCH vs WHM. I just love to have pets around, same with SMN vs BLM. (Lucky for me, GF loves BLM, so we can complete each other ^^)

So yes, Ensuring healer would not get out of mana when you don't know him and his style of play like PUGs = safe heals = no one dies = WIN.

He tells you he prefer Foe Requiem? So be it. If you guys wipe.. well, you know it ain't because of me lol

As lots stated: no matter what you will do, with every jobs, someone will complain, so just stick to what you love doing, unless it's obvious (like tanking as BLM when Mountain Buster is coming)

Even so, some wants Blue Mage to be able to tank.. (now please don't get started on this, there is a diff thread for it ^^)

If you fit in your role, and then as a party of 4-8, you still get the job done, and are having fun... I'll sing an ode to praise your worthy effort, "Heroes Of Eorzea"!!
