I agree with Camate.

There is so much you can buy with mythology why would you need to exceed 2k? Buy crafting materials and sell them (you dont even have to craft just sell them on the market board) do novus for fun if you have all the coil gear, gear all 9 jobs even if you dont have them leveled, so many reasons why there is no need to have more than 2k myth at any given moment.

how someone playing the game so he enjoy it is doing it wrong?
people may want to enjoy playing the game and not just spend all their time on boring fate farming and since everything "endgame" outside SCOB give myth he gets them.

Um, there is already an endless supply of myth available. You just have to spend the time to earn it... Cap or no cap it doesn't matter the amount of myth available will be the same, although having a cap of Myth encourages flooding the market even more because people are forced to sell off the excess myth so they can keep earning more of it..
