    The Music

I've been playing FFXIV ARR for almost a year... (since closed beta)

I only heard the same music over and over again.

My ears actually spoiled, a very spoiled pair indeed.

so, I want new or different music.
Well, the easiest step is they can add new feature in system settings:

    Music Settings:

    -ARR Music
    -FFXIV 1.0
    -Rearrange music of them

Players can freely change it anytime at system settings.

The changes consists of city theme, battle/boss battle music, dungeon music and field theme.

I'm sure ARR players who haven't taste ver 1.0 wanna hear Nobuo's masterpiece too, maybe even rearrange version of them.
Also, if only Yasunori Mitsuda can join as new composer too...I will give you all may happiest tears.

I've listened to the 1.0 Soundtrack over and over, and I can honestly say it doesn't have anything really *special* over the ARR soundtrack, a few songs I quite like from 1.0 such as the Ul'dah city theme but that's about it.

It would be nice to hear different music when I'm battling or in a fate.

@Sky Well, at least we can have different atmosphere while playing.

@Nozomi yeah, I'm hoping electronic genre rearrange version for battle, lol

When the game launched it had multiple battle tunes per region. Now it has one for the entire world, mildly remixed, and it's not even good. They need to bring back Uematsu or Mizuta to produce new work, both would be fine options as these guys know what Final Fantasy music is. Soken's tenure has been mediocre, it is the worst part of A Realm Reborn.

The difference between Coil 1 finale (Soken) and Coil 2 finale (Uematsu) is absolutely staggering. Soken is not without merit, but it's things like this that really highlight the gulf in quality. Soken also has extremely narrow range, something that is against the entire spirit of classical Final Fantasy, Uematsu can write in so many styles it's sickening.

I respectfully disagree there - Uematsu's OST for version 1.0 was somewhat of a mixed bag - for every amazing track (Navigator's Glory, On Windy Meadows, Piece of Mind, The Forest's Pulse, Primal Judgement, Tempest), there were plenty more mediocre tracks that was just indulging in soft metal guitars with little melody (Nail of the Heavens, Quicksand). Of course this is all subjective so what may be rubbish to one player is gold to another.

And Soken has proven he is capable of composing some amazing tracks (The Navigator's Veil, The Emperor's Wont, Penitus, Ultima, Rise of the White Raven/Bite of the Black Wolf) - his only failing was his early experimentation in trying to make music less 'backing leitmotifs' and more just 'ambient sound you barely know is there', something he has clearly taking steps to address due to player feedback.

Having said that though, there's still a few 1.0 tracks I'd love to see return to ARR, but I don't think we need a 'replace ARR's OST with 1.0's option' - it wouldn't even be possible given the far greater amount of content in the game requiring new music which didn't even exist in 1.0.
